Introduction to
Preaching Dr. Paul Koptak Professor of Communication and Biblical Interpretation North Park Theological Seminary
Dr. Paul Koptak enjoys helping students discover and develop their gifts for preaching, building into their character and vocational call. Dr. Koptak aims to show students how to use biblical studies in their preaching. “My courses are designed on the premise that we learn to preach biblical texts by first learning how to read them,” he says. He is ordained by the Evangelical Covenant Church. He participates in worship with the an old-time country gospel band called the Lonesome Theologians.
In this course you will develop a biblical theology of communication and preaching, learn the principles of sermon construction, and put both into practice as you speak to the class and receive critique. A portion of the class will be given to using storytelling in preaching.
