The Soaring Eagles are coming off a 59-44 win over Empire 8 Conference foe Houghton College last weekend. Danielle Cleary ’18 led the Purple and Gold with 15 points, four steals, two assists, two rebounds, and two blocks in the win. Jessica Brooks ’16 was behind Cleary with 10 points, two rebounds, and an assist.
Empire 8 Rookie of the Week
After averaging 15.0 points per game, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists last week, Danielle Cleary ’18 was named the Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week. This is the fourth time this season Cleary has been tabbed with this honor.
Pochkar with a Career-High
Against Utica College last week, Karli Pochkar ’16 led the Purple and Gold with 21 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Her 21 points is a career-high and raised her scoring average to 10.3 points per contest.
EC Pickpocketing
Elmira recorded a season-high 11 steals against Houghton College last week. This is the most steals that the EC women have tallied in a single-game since posting the same amount against Stevens Institute of Technology on February 21st, 2014.
Elmira’s Three-Point Shot
The Purple and Gold have remained in the top-spot in the Empire 8 Conference in three-point field goal percentage. Draining 34.1 percent of their shots this season, the Soaring Eagles hold a 0.01 percent advantage over Nazareth College.
