The Elmira College women’s ice hockey team picked up their fifth win in a row by defeating Williams College 5-1 Saturday afternoon. Ashley Ryan ’15 and Tanis Lamoureux ’14 had three points apiece while Lisa Marshall ’14 made 31 saves between the pipes.

Sharing the Wealth

Five different women notched goals and eight others tallied points against Williams as the Soaring Eagles continue to share the puck on the ice. That was the highest number of players recording a point in a game since eight players got on the scoresheet in EC’s 5-0 win over Utica College in the ECAC West Semifinals last season.

Long Time No See

The Soaring Eagles will take on #2 Middlebury College in the opening game of the Cardinal-Panther Classic in a rematch of the 2013 NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Championship, which EC won 1-0.

Wilgosh Amongst National Leaders

Brooke Wilgosh ’15 has put together an extremely productive season for the Purple and Gold from the blue line, tying for third on the team with eight points, but it is where she ranks nationally that stands out. The third-year talent is sixth in all of NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey in points per game for defenders (1.14) and seventh in the nation in power play goals scored (3).

Ninth in the Nation

With three points in Saturday’s win over Williams, Ashley Ryan’15 bumped her points per game average up to 1.71, good enough for ninth in all of NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey.
