20-Plus for Randolph

Neil Randolph ’15 has become Elmira’s first scoring option this year. Against Ithaca College, Randolph poured in 21 points, marking the eighth time this season he has scored 20 or more points in a single game. In those eight contests, Elmira has gone 4-4.

Vogel the Distributor

In Elmira’s one-point loss to Ithaca College, Derrick Vogel ’14 dished out six assists. So far this season, Vogel has recorded five or more assists in a single-game seven times, including a pair of seven assist nights which are both season highs. In those seven games, Elmira has gone 4-3 and in those three losses, EC has lost, on average, by only 2.7 points.

46 Second Half Points

In Elmira’s 69-68 loss to Ithaca College, the Purple and Gold scored 46 second half points to make things interesting down the stretch. EC’s 46 points are the second most they have scored in a second half of a game this season. It is also the fifth time this season the Soaring Eagles have scored 40 or more points in a single half.

Honoring the 1993-94 Champs

At halftime of Saturday’s game, Elmira College will recognize the 1993-94 EC men’s basketball team, a team that won the 1994 ECAC Upstate Championship. The 1993-94 men completed the season with a 21-7 overall record and claimed Elmira’s second ECAC Upstate title in program history. The 1993-94 season also mark the last time EC finished with 20-plus wins.
