Meet Diane Duffy, New Board Member of the WRC

The Women’s Resource Center welcomes Diane Duffy, M.D., Director of Clinical Education at Elon University, as one of its newest board members. Duffy joined the board in May 2011. As a practicing pediatrician in Burlington, she often referred patients to the “Growing-up and Liking It” program and still enjoys attending the annual Herb Festival. In her opinion, the WRC is beneficial to the community because it helps women in all stages of life across all socioeconomic classes.

During the past 20 years, Duffy has made it her mission to improve the overall health and wellbeing of the Burlington community. After discontinuing her practice of pediatric medicine in 2008, she began working to find creative ways of educating people about what it means to be healthy. She currently is an active leader in several other organizations including the Girl Scouts of America, Healthy Alamance, the School Health Advisory and her Parish Council.

Duffy now lives in Graham, N.C., with her two children. Studied medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa and continued her studies in pediatrics at UNC Chapel Hill.
