The Solar on Schools Project for Wisconsin has a goal to install solar arrays on up to 100 schools across the state within the next 4 years. Cal Couillard, a 1970’s Memorial grad, has a vision to see Memorial and North High Schools lead the way to achieve this goal, with no cost to the Eau Claire Area School District

Solar on Schools The nonprofits Couillard Solar Foundation (CSF) and Midwest Renewable Energy Association started the Solar on Schools Project. The CSF will subsidize solar PV array installations on K-12 Wisconsin Public Schools with these major goals: • Education • Transition to renewable energy • Shared community work towards a clean, sustainable environment • Promote career awareness and occupational pathways in environmental sciences The project is entirely funded from private donations and will cost the district nothing, while providing about $20,000 per year in district savings.
