MEET OUR CHAMBER INTERN
My name is Samuel Tucker and I am the Summer 2021 membership intern. I graduate from Georgia College & State University this August with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and a minor in History. I’m from Marietta, Georgia and I plan to attend law school at Mercer University this fall.
Throughout my time here at the Chamber of Commerce I have acquainted myself with the many different businesses and organizations here in the Putnam county area. Some of my major projects include cleaning up and improving the membership database here at the chamber by verifying contact information for over 300 members, sending out invitations for the Legislative Breakfast, shipping out inquiries and updates to all of our members through the mail, driving across the county to pick up and deliver promotional materials, conducting interviews with members of the Chamber board, doing write ups for Chamber Discoveries, managing the Chamber of Commerce Facebook and Instagram pages, and doing research on various Chambers across the country to help improve the Chamber here in Eatonton-Putnam county.
On a day-to-day basis you can find me at the front desk of the welcome center answering phone calls, reading and responding to emails, assisting visitors, and preparing any outgoing postage for the week. I’ve always been doing textbook intern assignments ranging anywhere from cleaning out the closets in the backroom at the Chamber, vacuuming the front lobby, and picking up Surcheros catering for board meetings.
I have been grateful to work with and learn from Michael here at the Membership office, and have been privileged to meet so many amazing people here in the city of Eatonton. I look forward to seeing everyone here at the welcome center as I finish out my last month with the Chamber of Commerce. QUARTERLY
