CHAMBER BOARD

Spring Season is one of our two most full seasons at the Chamber.

We see programming in full swing, our Leadership program wraps up from one class and we begin to prepare for another, and we’re thinking ahead for the Fall and the second busiest season of fulfillment we’ll experience. We saw several new faces at each of our events and welcomed nearly two dozen new investors into our family. The warmth of community is expanding.

This Spring also came with a few fantastic surprises that I will forever hold proudly close. Having our Timeless 1969 and 1979 tourism shorts recognized for not just one but two industry awards truly takes the cake. Two Telly Awards and an EMMY! What an achievement for our community! These accomplishments were only made possible through community partnerships and trusting the vision of local talent. A true symbol of what being a Chamber means.

These past three months have also given me the privilege of beginning another season of professional development. I completed year 3 of the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management in Athens, GA, where I continued to build on the incredible relationships from across the nation I’ve built over the past two years and took a deeper dive into the responsibilities of managing an organization.

I am stepping into the third quarter of 2024 with an excitement and enthusiasm that we are going to see major shifts in our outcomes and be better prepared to serve YOU!

The Chamber has been busy so far this year with the hosting of a number of successful events, welcoming new investors, and offering a number of opportunities to help support our loyal investors.

We have an exceptional professional staff and outstanding volunteer Board of Directors who are here to serve your interests. Together, we thrive and keep our community strong.

It is an honor to serve on a team with innovative ideas and approaches!

I want to take a moment to congratulate our Chamber on their recent EMMY Award winning recognition for Timeless 1969! This project was so special in how it captured the beauty and offerings of our amazing community in such a heartfelt way. On behalf of the Board, I want to thank partner Jim Stone with Tytan Pictures for his support and belief in this project.

The warmer months are in full swing! Summertime brings with it many opportunities to enjoy community activities. I invite you to join me in supporting our local businesses! PUBLIC RELATIONS During the second quarter as PR Director, I've been right in the mix of some exciting new stuff. It's been a rush with new businesses popping up and many ribbon-cuttings. But what's been really cool is getting to be part of different experiences that have motivated me. Getting to know these business owners better over time, hearing their stories, and seeing their passion for our community has been super inspiring.

Looking ahead, I'm pumped to keep building on these connections and showcasing how our local business scene is thriving and evolving.

Now that I have graduated from Leadership Putnam, I can truly say that the experience I had is something I will always treasure.

I had the opportunity to meet wonderful people who have now become some of my closest friends. This program and my classmates have been a source of inspiration, encouraging me to make a meaningful difference in our community, promote kindness, and embrace the belief that dedication can lead to remarkable achievements.

The latest installment of the Business Breakfast Series was on Marketing. April’s Business After Hours was hosted

by BankSouth and held in collaboration with the Greene County Chamber of Commerce. This highly anticipated event, known for its "Masters" theme, has become a favorite annual tradition.

Attendees enjoyed an evening of networking and community engagement, all while celebrating the spirit of the Masters tournament. The event featured themed decorations, delicious food and drinks, and engaging activities that brought everyone together. It was a fantastic opportunity for local businesses and community members to connect, share ideas, and strengthen relationships.

INVESTOR APPRECIATION May's Business After Hours was dedicated to our Investor Appreciation Event, a celebration of the invaluable support we receive from our investors.
