These are the three themes we are focusing our campaign around. We want to provide healthy alternatives for fans at sporting venues, to use club and player promotion to encourage healthier food choices, and to change advertisements to kick junk food out of sport.

Healthy Alternatives Providing healthy alternatives for fans at sporting venues Why healthy alternatives are essential: • To combat the increasing health risks associated with unhealthy diets • To improve sustainability as an environmental initiative • To ensure football stadiums remain a place of health and fitness

The main barriers and causes of unhealthy diets: • The increasing food prices furthered by the cost-of-living crisis • Lack of access geographically • Unchanging habits and societal attitudes

Club Action Using club and player promotion to encourage healthier food choices Club and player action is the steps sports clubs and players can take in the battle against junk food and to support healthy eating.

There are many ways clubs can take action: • Promoting healthy eating through social media • Not showing junk food advertisements at matches • Providing healthy food alternatives at matches • Players choosing not to support junk food brands • Creating fitness/weight management groups

Changing Advertisements Changing advertisements to kick junk food out of sport The endorsement of unhealthy foods at sporting events creates a “health halo” effect where companies use an association with healthy lifestyles to promote and normalize their products.
