Stunningly located over the Waimea Estuary with views over to Rabbit Island and the Richmond ranges. Peace and tranquility reign. Rustic and warm with a reference to the apples that used to come and go from the Mapua Wharf to the overseas markets in days gone by. The Apple Shed Cafe is in one of the three corrugated iron sheds that sits directly on the sea at port Mapua. Fresh seafood, New Zealand beef, lamb and pork define our menus. All breads are made daily, smoked fish, meat and vegetables are smoked on the premises and as many herbs, vegetables and fruit are sourced from home gardens and orchards in the local Mapua area. Perfect when you want to experience fresh local seafood, locally roasted coffee, Nelson wines and warm hospitality in a relaxed seaside environment. Large groups are welcome.
