Each year on the weekend of Mother?s Day, EC celebrates the moms of the student body by hosting an annual Mother ? Daughter Luncheon. This year the lunch was on Saturday May 12th, the day before Mother?s Day, at the Sahalee Golf Club.

As everyone started exiting the dining room, there were four racks of clothing by the two brands that were modeled for purchase. The luncheon was a memorable one that will not soon be forgotten.
Breaking Tr adition at the Royal Wedding Sophia Vandewark Insider Staff The Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took place on May 19 at the St. George Chapel of the Windsor Castle. The marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been the topic of conversation since the couple announced their engagement in November of 2017. Markle is not what most view as the type of person to marry into the royal British family, at least not traditionally. Among the list of unique aspects of Markle?s life is that she was married once before, from 2011 till 2013, to Trevor Engelson. Additionally, Markle is not the first American to marry into the British Royal family but she is the first biracial Duchess of Sussex. Meghan Markle was born in Los Angeles, California to Thomas Markle Sr. and Doria Ragland. Due to her African-America heritage the royal wedding ceremony was celebrated with traditional aspects of African culture. Bishop Michael Curry from Chicago, IL gave the sermon during the ceremony.

Luther King Jr. during his sermon, basing his message off of Song of Solomon 3:4, the reading the Duke and the Duchess chose for the ceremony. the Duke and the Duchess also decided to leave the church to the song ?Stand by Me? performed by an all African-American Gossip Choir. Markle?s family history is not the only thing that got people talking, Markle?s walked down the aisle in a gorgeous Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy dress. Markle?s also wore a 16 foot long lace veil and a diamond bandeau tiara that once belonged to Queen Mary and was lent to her by Queen Elizabeth II. All around the ceremony was beautiful and had deep roots in African tradition along with ties to the traditional British ceremonies. So both cultures were represented in the bonding of these two people. The newly designed coat of arms (pictured on the left) is heavily influenced by Markle's home.
