Dear Friends, On this special evening, it is my honor to welcome you to another fabulous celebration to benefit your amazing students—the 33rd Annual STARS Gala Auction. As we gather together to enjoy what promises to be a marvelous evening spent with family, friends and colleagues—we unify because Together We Thrive! This year I have witnessed our students working together as they live out our school touchstones and I’ve been especially impressed with the many ways they demonstrate servant leadership on and off campus. Students have already donated more than 2,500 items to local foodbanks, raised money for hurricane relief and participated in a blood drive to address shortages nationwide. And, after witnessing firsthand those who had to go without, your students led an effort to collect sports equipment for youth in New Orleans. Our students truly reflect our culture of caring and embody what it means to be a Crusader. My sincere appreciation goes to our Auction Co-Chairs Cindy Huse and Sandi Stuit and their wonderful volunteers who contribute their talents and time to make this event successful. My personal thanks also go to Manager of Special Events Mayten Gross and Advancement Associate Joji Siegel for their passion and commitment to creating an unforgettable evening for us all. The heart and soul of Eastside Catholic has always been and will always be the people who come together as a community. The future is bright, and we have much to look forward to. Thank you for being here tonight. I appreciate all you do to support the mission of Eastside Catholic and look forward to your spirited bidding tonight! Blessings, Tom Lord Interim President

Dear Eastside Catholic Family, On behalf of the board of trustees, we welcome you to the 2018 STARS Gala Auction—Together We Thrive! What an exciting night this is as we gather together to support our wonderful Eastside Catholic School and celebrate our community! As we come together tonight, we thank you for your continued support. It is because of our shared spirit and your financial support that EC continues to thrive and be an outstanding Catholic school in the Pacific Northwest. Each year, we host a "Making a Difference" moment that allows us to raise the funds needed to make a powerful and lasting financial commitment to some aspect of the school that is fundamental to our touchstones of academic excellence, servant leadership and relationships. This year our "Making a Difference" moment will support deeper investment in STEAM, an educational method that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. STEAM is fundamental to the academic excellence outlined by our mission, and will prepare our students to be competitive in today's technologically advanced world. Our school is blessed with a wonderful community made up of outstanding students, supportive and committed parents, alumni, alumni parents and friends. It is because of you that Eastside Catholic continues to provide a unique and unmatched environment for students to grow spiritually, academically and athletically while learning to foster lifelong relationships. Special thanks go to the Auction Co-Chairs Cindy Huse and Sandi Stuit and EC Special Event Manager and Associate, Mayten Gross and Joji Siegel, for their gift of leadership. They, along with the auction committee and volunteers, have worked diligently to make this year’s gala one to remember. We look forward to sharing a wonderful evening together. Sincerely, Mauricio A. Uribe Chair, Board of Trustees

It’s a fun and frantic dash to grab your favorite dessert! Decide which tasty dessert on display in the Grand Ballroom, strikes your table’s sweet-tooth fancy. Simply fill out the pink Dessert Dash bid sheet on your table, pass it around and tally up your combined bids into a single table bid total. Remember, the higher your total bid, the greater your table’s chance to dash for your choice of dessert first! After the Live Auction “Making a Difference” effort, the auctioneer will announce the highest to lowest Dessert Dash table bid order. Once called, your table’s dessert dasher should quickly make their way to the dessert table before another dasher takes your table’s favorite choice. Once all tables have been announced and desserts have been claimed, staff will happily cut, plate and serve your favorite sweet treat.

Your table has been adorned with the graceful white blossoms of this beautiful “Waterfall” Phalaenopsis orchid as an uplifting reminder of the spirit of the STARS Gala Auction: “Together We Thrive”! With its beauty and elegance, the white Phalaenopsis symbolizes pure love, precious friendship and unity, much like our EC community. This versatile centerpiece will be perfect for any event or home décor. Feel free to peruse the surrounding tables to find the perfect centerpiece that best suits your taste. Please look for the bid sheet located on each table in the Grand Ballroom to claim your centerpiece. If you are the winning bidder, you may take your centerpiece with you as you leave your table. Unclaimed centerpieces will be at Item Retrieval at the conclusion of the Live Auction and may be picked up by the winning bidder upon checkout.

18 Making a Difference This year our "Making a Difference" moment will support deeper investment in STEAM, an educational method that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. STEAM is fundamental to our tradition of academic excellence and will prepare our students to be competitive in today's technologically advanced world. Born out of STEM, the "A" in STEAM integrates the creative process into this approach to education. STEAM will be a defining feature of future professions and we are committed to preparing our students to be the innovators, educators and leaders of the 21st century. Research shows that early access to cutting-edge resources is directly correlated to long-term success in STEAM fields. Your investment will support and enhance STEAM offerings for our students. Funds raised will benefit students in grades 6 - 12 at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year through the renovation of a dedicated STEAM learning space. This space may include flexible do-it-yourself (DIY) workstations, 3D printers and adaptable audio-video production capabilities.

18 Making a Difference (continued) High school students will be able to engage fully from conception and design to physical production, through collaborative learning, computational thinking and innovation. Middle school students will be able to enhance existing clubs and teams, such as robotics and math or create new clubs and teams that take advantage of improved technology and equipment for the new science curriculum being implemented in the 2018-19 school year. In following years, we envision the creation of these spaces that will open up curricular opportunities for students, which could include digital media arts, engineering, game and app development, web design and graphics production. If our students can dream an idea, STEAM at EC will provide the technology and tools to bring their vision to fruition. Please join us in "Making a Difference" this year by supporting the unique academic opportunities and curriculum enrichment a STEAM education offers!

61 Six Bottles of Premium Private Label Tequila Enjoy six 750 ml bottles of Cava 23 Tequila, a private label collection of premium tequila produced and bottled in Jalisco, Mexico on the estate of Don Julio. The set includes six bottles of Extra Aùejo. The process of creating Tequila Don Julio is as unique as the tequila itself. From the cultivation of the agave plant to the American white-oak barrels it is aged in, making Tequila Don Julio is a process that requires the skilled and practiced hands of people trained in the art and craft of tequila. Each bottle of Tequila Don Julio is made from the same handpicked, 100% pure, blue Weber agave plants from the highlands of Jalisco—one of the country's most fertile agave growing regions. It is here where each agave plant is allowed to grow seven to ten years before it is harvested, resulting in the mellow, fully developed agave flavor for which Tequila Don Julio is known. It is this attention to quality, craftsmanship and tradition that sets Tequila Don Julio apart from other tequilas and makes it the world's finest luxury tequila.
