We advocate for, connect with, and provide support services to military service members, veterans and their families through all phases of deployment: predeployment, deployment and reunion reintegration.
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY/FAMILY THERAPY
Clinicians utilize evidence based practices to address depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI), Suicide, and substance use/abuse. Clinicians also provide techniques to address trauma, manage and/or reduce anxiety, restructure thoughts and teach effective coping skills. They focus on areas such as insomnia, relationship struggles, social alienation, financial hardships, academic/career outlook, reintegration, and spiritual concerns.
GROUP THERAPY
Seeking Safety
Easterseals MORC offers a gender specific military and veterans' group which focuses on trauma and/or substance use/abuse. Topics of discussion include establishing healthy relationships, self-nurturing and coping with PTSD.
Multi-Family Groups/ Deployment Cycle Support Groups
Psychoeducation and problem-solving group which involves veterans, military personnel and their family members. Groups are based on phases of deployment. Each session includes a presentation on a topic of interest followed by an opportunity to connect with other veterans, military personnel, and families through facilitated discussion. Topics may include family and couple relationships, communication, grief and loss, parenting, stress management, etc.
Staging Groups for Substance Use/Abuse
These groups provide education and stage-wise interventions for individuals who are thinking about, and ready to, remove substances from their life. Topics include stages of change regarding substance use, reintegration challenges, social alienation, effective coping skills, reunifying with family members, establishing coping skills and rebuilding relationships.
