Easterseals MORC has gathered a list of activities & events to do and visit throughout the state of Michigan. To be considered for the Easterseals MORC Seal of Approval, the activity, event, or location must be (or have accommodations for) sensory and/or disability friendly.

AMC Theatres partners with the Autism Society to offer sensory friendly movies twice a month. During these showings they turn the lights up, and turn the sound down, so guests can get up, dance, walk, shout or sing! Their Sensory Friendly Film program is available on the second and fourth Saturday (family-friendly) and Wednesday evenings (mature audiences) of every month. Celebration Cinemas partners with Family Hope Foundation to offer sensory showings. Guests can enjoy a friendly environment where everyone is welcome. These sensory friendly showings include brighter lights, lower sound, limited previews, open captions, and a group of understanding guests and staff. Emagine Theatres hosts sensory friendly screenings daily as location schedules allow. At Emagine, sensory friendly showings include brighter lights and lower volume, audience interaction (movement, speaking, singing) and electronic device (phone, tablet, etc.) usage is allowed. The Henry Ford has created sensory-friendly at-home activities that will keep your family engaged and learning beyond our sensoryfriendly programming. These resources have connections to The Henry Ford, as well as videos, crafts, social activities, and more. They can be used at any time and in any combination. The Detroit Zoological Society is committed to accommodating individuals with diverse backgrounds and learning abilities, including autism. Their staff has participated in the Michigan Autism Safety Training (MAST) provided by the Autism Alliance of Michigan and KultureCity’s certification process. Sensory bags equipped with noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards and weighted lap pads are available to guests who may feel overwhelmed by the environment. Guests can check out the bags at Customer Care and the Park Safety Office. A dedicated sensory room is also available for those who may need a quieter and more secure space. Located is Sterling Heights, The Play-Place offers a unique play-powered environment, combining education and recreation with a variety of social, occupational, and physical therapeutic overtones. The Play-Place is open to all ages, all cognitive levels, and all special needs. Additionally, it is designed to promote cognitive and social development, sensory integration, balance & coordination, endless hours of excitement as well as professional support services and respite relief for parents and siblings. Chuck E. Cheese is proud partner with the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD®) to support families of children with autism and other special needs. On the first Sunday of each month, participating locations open two hours early to offer a quieter environment, dimmed lighting and a trained and caring staff to ensure each guest has a safe, fun-filled visit. Urban Air Adventure Park is the ultimate indoor adventure park where kids of all ages (and kids at heart) can explore thrilling attractions, challenge their body and mind, and most importantly... have a blast! Located on the campus of Kettering University, the Flint Children's Museum offers hands-on experience for all children, recommended for ages 2-10. The Grand Rapids Children's Museum is enhancing safety and ensuring comfort for every child by increasing cleaning measures and limiting capacity throughout the day. Bowlero Lanes & Lounge is a IBCCES Certified Autism Center. Every Wednesday from 4pm-6pm, Bowlero hosts special, low sensory hours designed for players on the spectrum and/or with other special needs. This is all you can bowl for 2 hours with shoe rental included. They also host parties and events and have a collection of throwback pinball and video games in their arcade area for guests to enjoy. In collaboration with a variety of MSU and community partners, Wharton Center provides a supportive and welcoming environment that makes live theatre accessible to those with sensory needs and differing abilities. During sensory-friendly performances, there is lower sound and light levels, the house lights on a lower level, and many more accommodations.
