AFTER SCHOOL SOCIAL SKILLS GROUP

Easterseals MORC is proud to be starting an after school social skills group for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at our Wixom location! Learn more about how a child in your life can join this group today!

WHAT IS THE AFTER SCHOOL SOCIAL SKILLS GROUP?

The ASD Social Skills Group is an evidence-based group intervention used to improve socioemotional behavior, problem-solving, development of positive relationships with others, and promote additional skills necessary for independence in the home and community All skills targeted will be taught in a group format and utilize role playing with peers, cooperation with peers, and group interaction ASD Social Skills group will also require parent completion of home activities and weekly meetings with the certified behavior analyst

WHO ARE THESE GROUPS FOR?

These groups are designed for adolescents with a diagnosis of autism, who do not require intensive ABA therapy but would benefit from supplemental therapy to promote social, emotional, and group skills

Individuals in the group also must:

Have approval for ABA services through OCHN or commercial ABA coverage. Not have another ABA provider.

Have an authorization and ABA assessment before joining the group.

WHEN AND WHERE WILL THEY TAKE PLACE?

The After School Social Skills group will begin in October and take place on Monday's & Wednesday's from 4:30 PM- 6:30 PM. These groups will be held at the Easterseals MORC Wixom location (51229 Century Ct, Wixom MI 48393).
