This session highlights top key communication strategies and phrases to support staff working in often high pressured workplaces.
Separation Anxiety and Unsettled Behaviours This session provides an overview of the typical causes of separation anxiety, how to foster attachment and build trusting relationships with children. Strategies on how to respond to a distraught or unsettled child are also provided.
Kathy Walker Kathy Walker presents these professional development courses to the community using evidence-based pedagogy to enable each child to thrive and flourish. This session emphasises the range of skills and development that are acquired through well planned, expert open ended play experiences. It provides a list of key play experiences and how to set them up for learning.
Including Parents as Partners in Children’s Education
Ensuring Appropriate Expectations and Experiences for Children Across Diverse Age/Stage and Culture A child’s life is influenced by a range of significant factors. Family, culture, personality, biological development. This session supports educators in how to assess, evaluate and respond to children and how to promote learning and understandings. It highlights the importance of strategies that are appropriate and match their age, stage and cultural context.
It isn’t always easy to be inclusive or supportive of parents. Educators don’t always get to meet or see parents regularly. Parents are often rushed, and it can be difficult to share information. This session provides practical ideas on how to include parents as partners in their children’s education.
