BEING AN EFFECTIVE CHAIR

These workshops are designed for people who have taken on the role of Chair / President of your Committee or Board. You are the manager of the business of the CoM/Board. It will explain what your role entails, give you skills and knowledge to manage the CoM/Board business and manage a great meeting. It will show you how to meet your legal obligations. The workshop is designed for those who have never received training in the role or those new to the role.

Community Sport

a series for Committees of Sporting Clubs and Organisations

Dr Shona Bass is a trailblazer being an 'original Matilda' and one of the first women to be awarded a level III (a licensed equivalent) Australian soccer coaching qualification. She is a passionate advocate and promoter of women in sport from grass roots participation to elite performance and has participated on numerous boards including the International Olympic Committee for women in sport. Shona has played and coached soccer at an elite level over several decades alongside coaching at the community club level and being a coach mentor.

Grass roots sport underpins the hum of everyday Australian weekends.

Children of all ages participate across all sports, being coached and administered by willing and energetic community volunteers.

Clubs and associations are as diverse as the choice of sport itself. Despite the diversity, there are common principles that underpin the success of any club.

Dr Shona Bass; will be presenting a series of workshops that unpack the principles for success including the X factor for successful coaching, ensuring a legacy of sustainability for the club and governance for community sporting clubs and associations.

Shona Bass

Jason Doherty

Strategy, Governance, Volunteering and Early Years Associate Consultant

Jason is an experienced Executive who has spent 25 years in both commercial and NFP roles. His strengths are people in management, creating high level strategies, delivering outcomes and being able to maintain a high level of execution across varied business units. Jason is a qualified early childhood teacher and was General Manager and Acting CEO of Playgroup Victoria for 9 years. Jason was CEO of Volunteering Geelong and brings an understanding of what it takes to deliver services with volunteers workforces in these changing times.

Vik Naidu

Early Learning specialist

Vik has over 25 years experience in senior executive and financial management roles across a range of sectors including the Early Childhood, Community Services, International and Domestic Business, Business Development and Marketing. Vik has demonstrated the ability to lead diverse teams of professionals in highly competitive and not for profit sectors. With sound technical and business qualifications and hands-on experience, Vik has the ability to successfully analyse an organisation's business requirements, identify deficiencies and opportunities, and develop solutions for enhancing competitiveness, increasing revenues, and improving client service offerings.

Kasturi Rangan

Early Learning Financial specialist/Business Executive/Company Secretary

Kasturi is a CPA qualified Executive Leader with over 20 years experience working in senior financial and executive roles. He brings to the consultant team excellent people and communication skills and commercial acumen, Kasturi has played lead roles as a Business Transformation leader in both the Not-for-Profit and Corporate sectors.

Anna Tait

Volunteer Support Services Officer, Volunteer Resource Services

Anna first joined EV or 4 years ago when she moved to Melbourne from Brisbane, firstly as a volunteer assessor and since then has worked with EV in different roles including a Volunteer Coordinator, Manager and Volunteer Resource Services. Anna is passionate about volunteering and how it can engage and encourage connection within the community, build confidence, and skills and make for a really strong and vibrant local community.

Wayne Aitken

Manager, Consulting Services

Wayne is a senior leader with over 20 years experience as stakeholder and industry influencer across transport, logistics, industrial, resources and commodities sector in China, Singapore, Canada and Australia. Wayne holds post graduate business and international management qualifications from Australia and the USA. He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a MAICD alumni member. Wayne is the Manager for the EV Consulting Services and was previously Managing Director and Executive Vice President (APAC) Farstad Shipping & Logistics ASA and Executive General Manager - Trading & Marketing (Melbourne/Singapore) for Rio Tinto.
