• Current issues: Students are equipped to understand and address some of the most pertinent issues of our time, ranging from deadly force to mass incarceration. • Restorative justice is the cornerstone of the criminal justice major. The department demonstrates commitment to holistic social transformation. • Perceiving root causes: The curriculum guides the students to perceive root causes of social ills, and understand their critical importance in addressing injustices and the critical importance of attacking them. • Internship opportunities are promoted for hands-on experience and are easily accessible in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. • Holistic ministry to minors: The Juvenile Justice Ministry Minor prepares people to minister holistically to youth offenders and their families using a comprehensive approach that includes traumainformed intervention, advocacy, and personal nurture.
Our Graduates Are Now Working: • As teachers, researchers, counselors, pastors, missionaries, data managers, development officers, services managers, private security officers, social workers, entrepreneurs, law enforcement personnel, victim’s rights advocates, and criminologists. • In government, non-profit and business organizations, educational and law enforcement institutions, criminal justice agencies, courtrooms, social science research organizations, and churches. • Toward advanced degrees in law, criminal justice/ criminology, public administration, political science, social work, sociology, urban studies, and more.
