STORY

Established in 1873, Eastern Market is DC’s oldest continually operated fresh food public market. In 1908, the market was expanded to include the North Hall. The North Hall was newly renovated in 2009, as part of Eastern Market’s $22 million restoration by the District of Columbia Government. For over 136 years, Eastern Market has served as a community hub, connecting neighbors, families, and visitors.

Beautifully situated in the heart of Capitol Hill, the North Hall at Eastern Market is a premiere destination for civic and community organizations, corporations and individuals hosting special events, fundraisers, receptions, weddings, gatherings, performances, showcases, meetings, and more.

NORTH HALL

The North Hall is 4,000 square feet of indoor event space with an historic ambiance that includes vaulted ceilings, dramatic arched windows, excellent acoustics, and a beautiful hardwood dance floor that can be configured in various ways.

CAPACITY

NORTH HALL PLAZA

The North Hall Plaza is 3,500 square feet of outdoor space adjacent to the North Hall, which can be used for ceremonies, cocktail receptions, and more.

The Plaza features outdoor lighting, open space, and direct access to North Carolina Ave. and 7th Street SE. The Plaza is available at an additional cost.

CATERING PLAZA

The Catering Plaza, adjacent to the North Hall and loading area, can be used as an extension of the catering kitchen. The space measures approximately 800 square feet.

BAYS

On the 7th Street SE, the Farmer’s Line Sheds, consisting of 16 bays, measures approximately 200 square feet. These bays offer renters a covered outdoor option for receptions, lounges, etc. Each bay comes configured with electrical outlets and is available for rental at an additional cost per bay.

The closest metro station is Eastern Market located on the Orange, Blue, and Silver lines.
