Markazul Maárif with Support from HCI, Canada Distributes Scholarships From the EC Desk

M

arkazul Ma’arif (NGO), the linchpin of Ajmal CSR activities, is a famous philanthropic organization working across India with its head office located at Hojai, Nagaon, Assam. Among its multidimensional social welfare and educational programmes, providing scholarships to the meritorious and needy students is an important component since 1985.

Markazul Maárif has selected 51 new students, mainly from medical and engineering streams, for Markaz Educational Scholarship for the year 2013-14 with support from the Canada based Human Concern International (HCI). The first two months’ scholarship in cash was awarded to the students at a ‘Markaz Scholarship Distribution Programme2013/14’ on 8th December, at College Auditorium Hall, College of Veterinary Science, Assam Agricultural University, Khanapara, Guwahati. This was revealed in a press release.

Guwahati based prominent personality, Engineer Qamaruz Zaman Ahmad and Dr. Kulendu Pathak, former Vice Chancellor Dibrugarh University were present in the programme as the President and the Chief Guest respectively.

It is also notable that Markazul Maárif has already been giving away scholarships to around 132 additional students on monthly basis throughout the year. “We believe education is the principal means to bring about positive changes along with desired development in a society and we have been endeavoring towards this mission since 1982” said Mr. SH Chaudhury, President

Prof. Rashid Ahmed, General Secretary (Hony.) of Markazul Maárif, Advt. Aminul Islam, General Secretary AIUDF and Mr. Mazaz Rasool of Ajmal Foundation were also present in the programme among the prominent dignitaries.
