The course, which is in candidate status for ASHP/ACPA accreditation, includes simulations and connects students with an externship partner at a local pharmacy (CVS or Walgreens) for the fulfillment of graduation requirements. Phlebotomy Technician Certification Program w/a Clinical Externship (online learning)
This online program prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Topics covered are anatomy and physiology, terminology, blood collection procedures. This program includes an optional clinical externship rotation for all students. To be eligible for the clinical rotation, students must successfully complete this program, submit to a thorough background check, drug screening and meet other requirements.
