The character design apply the Chinese poet—Li Bai’ work, The Moon at the Fortified Pass, as the material to represent my idea of designing. To the most designer, the western characters are more welcomed and advocated than Chinese characters is for the flexibility. In the past, Chinese words are stereotyped with its features of complicated strokes and lacking of choices, but with Tong Yangtze, Asixo and Katsumi Asaba’s effort on Eastern characters which not only open public’s eyes but also bring the new wave to Eastern culture. Therefore, my character design of Li Bai’s poem attempt to represent the poetic with sixty different form of font and hundreds types of writing stoke to experience the innovative Eastern characters.
