Rights of Nature in the State of Mexico

Collaboration Agreement between DSBELMEX and ELC Mexico

On September 14, 2023, ELC Mexico proudly signed a collaboration agreement with DSBELMEX, a company whose objective is to carry out plans aligned with the objectives of sustainable development to work together for the development of projects aimed at protecting the environment and Nature, and the conservation of biodiversity, as well as to comply with the objectives of the Harmony with Nature Programme of the United Nations.

Recognition of the Rights of Nature in Baja California

ELC Mexico, through its Operative Director, Claudia Brindis, and AnimaNaturalis Mexico, through its Director, Arturo Berlanga, started on September 13 the series of webinars that aim to share experiences and to make known the advances of the new approaches in Environmental Law and Rights of Nature to promote their recognition in the state of Baja California.

Evening for the Animals

Earth Law Center Mexico and 25 Animal Rights organizations joined together on October 7, 2023, to demand an end to the exploitation of non-human beings in an evening for their freedom. This event was the first of many to give momentum to the alliance for the defense of the Rights of Nature and the Rights of Animals.

Dialogue on Resilience, Gender, Environmental Crime and Biodiversity Loss

ELC Mexico participated on October 9 in the dialogue giving proposals to confront environmental crimes, the loss of biodiversity, and violence that affect women in Mexico.

This event brought new alliances with the Global Initiative, JADE, UNDP, among other national and international organizations to work together for resilience and new strategies that address these challenges in a more comprehensive way.
