At the circus school... and in your PE lessons! This section builds on the work pupils did in Early Start French Pack 2, âLes passetempsâ when they found out how to talk about their leisure activities, as well as Ch.3.2 âLes parties du corpsâ. Using the context of âthe circus schoolâ, this section develops simple language to help you use French in lively PE lessons, mainly instructions, e.g. playing âSimon says...â. You can turn PE activities into a âcircus performanceâ, where pupilsâ âactsâ are introduced and described to an audience by the âringmasterâ - in French. Pupils, as âperformersâ, can also comment on how difficult they find the activities. They may produce extended sentences using words like âparce que...â (because). Your PE lesson/âshowâ becomes an opportunity to say what âIâ and âweâ are doing, and also to tell an âaudienceâ what other people are doing, i.e. âheâ, âsheâ and âtheyâ.
