Veronica began her real estate career more than 25 years ago, and she earned both a bachelor and master’s degree while creating the thriving practice she maintains today. After excelling as the topproducing member of a large real estate team,
she felt compelled to begin a team of her own in 2019. Impressed by her team’s volume business and reputation in the community, COMPASS asked VSells & Associates to pilot its new Ellicott City office in 2020. “I feel their brand has elevated my brand,” Veronica says. “COMPASS provides a more luxury experience for agents, which helps us provide a more luxury experience for clients. What I’ve created is a little family of people who are there for you and able to step in when you need support, without looking for something in return. It’s okay to call a teammate with what you think is a dumb question, because there are no dumb questions. I really want a solid group that is comfortable with each other. This can be a lonely and competitive profession, but comparison is the thief of joy. Rather than seeing each other as competition, I encourage everyone to see their teammates as their first line of defense against the stresses of the job.”

VSells & Associates truly is a family enterprise, since Veronica’s husband Matt Sniscak joined the team as sales manager last year. “He does sales training and management of the team. He was an agent for some time, and then spent 10 years working for Andersen Windows in sales and as a corporate training manager, so he comes to us with both kinds of experience. He has helped us to implement systems that make us more efficient and has been a great asset to the team.” Matt is also a drone pilot who uses his skills to help the team promote its listings with beautiful aerial images.

As a wife and mother, Veronica maintains a busy life outside of real estate. Her youngest son Archer is an energetic kid who loves to be outdoors with his dad. Veronica is also passionate about supporting her older son on his journey coming out as transgender. “This has just been revealed in the last couple of years, and we are embracing the change. Knowing that children who are not supported are prone to a higher rate of suicide, suicide prevention in the LGBTQ community is very important to me. I like to share this message with love and to open up the subject for other people to come and talk to me about it. There are so many struggling with circumstances like these who don’t have anybody they can turn to.”
Veronica recently started taking ballroom and Latin dance lessons. “It’s fun to have a hobby, and dance is a great personal outlet,” she says.
The family’s Golden Retriever, Walt, is a local celebrity, since his image is emblazoned on the back of the VSells & Associates moving truck. “My husband calls him my real estate support animal,” Veronica quips.
For Veronica, real estate is far more than a job — it is a lifestyle. “Real estate is part of who I am, and it’s a passion,” she says. “I really love helping people solve complicated problems, whether they are a client or an agent on my team. It is very gratifying to know that you’ve helped someone fulfill a dream. It’s also just a lot of fun.”
