Prior to entering real estate, both Stefano and Maribel

enjoyed successful careers working closely with celebrities and high-net-worth clientele. In addition to being a private pilot, Stefano managed an L.A. restaurant, where he curated unforgettable dining experiences for the most discriminating guests. Maribel was a music industry executive who worked with artists to promote their albums and tours. Stefano and Maribel put people at ease right from the beginning of a transaction. “In real estate, the most important thing you can do is listen to what your client needs,” Maribel says. “People want to be understood. We are a great team, and we each have our strong sides to share with our customers. We become trusted advisors by communicating and listening to make people feel comfortable. Then we can deliver what they want. I think that from the moment people meet us, they see that we emanate good vibes and care about them.”

Stefano adds, “We want people to know that we are trustworthy, and they can call us anytime for advice or information. We’re always happy to help. Given the fact that in the South Bay there are so many people born in foreign countries and speaking foreign languages, it’s a tremendous plus that we speak Spanish, Italian and French. We meet a lot of clients from other countries, and sometimes their knowledge of English is not extensive. We can offer comfort by communicating in their language.”

Rather than measuring their success by awards and sales numbers, the Carellas measure it by the satisfaction of their clients. With a business driven almost entirely by referrals, they serve clients throughout Southern California with the same meticulous attention to detail. Maribel explains, “We tailor our service precisely to the needs of the seller. We sit and talk with them about what the house needs and what we recommend. If it needs decluttering, fresh paint or repairs, we can refer people we trust, or they can choose whoever they want to work with. The results are that the house sells quickly. In a market like today, a house can sit for three to four months, but if it’s turnkey and priced to sell, it can move a lot faster. For buyers, it’s the same. We listen to their needs and do our best to make it happen. Once you understand what someone needs and wants, the rest is easy.”
