fter graduating with a Bachelor of Laws in civil law from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and beginning his career as a public defender in Mexico City, Javier Brito traveled to Southern California to visit his two brothers. Once here, he fell in love — not only with California’s abundant opportunities and unique lifestyle, but with the woman who would become his wife. Javier decided to immigrate and create his own American Dream.

Starting out, life was challenging.

Javier did not speak English, and he took a job waiting tables at a local NORMS. There, he waited often on a lady who was a Realtor®, and she encouraged Javier to enter the industry.

He recalls, “She kept telling me, ‘You need to get into the business.’ One time, she said, ‘You don’t want to be a waiter for the rest of your life.’ I knew that to fulfill my own dreams, I needed to do something else. I decided to give it a try. She took me to her office in Santa Ana, where they were also doing home loans. I’ve been doing home loans since that day.”

During his distinguished 20-plus year career, Javier has helped hundreds of families to become homeowners and realize the American Dream. He has achieved top-producer status with some of the industry’s most notable institutions, and today he is a senior loan consultant at loanDepot in Ontario.

For many years, Javier has focused on developing a speciality in the area of down payment

assistance programs. Currently, loanDepot offers a program with a FICO as low as 600 and a debt ratio up to 55 percent. “That can mean getting a $250,000 home instead of a $200,000 home and qualifying for a better place. I like helping other Latinos and people coming from all over the place.

Often, these programs are their only chance to get into a home. I truly enjoy it when they close and I know I was able to help them reach this goal.”

“If You Can Dream It, You Can Achieve It” Javier says he takes pride in his profession, and he is committed to providing his clients with the best customer service. Javier’s well-trained legal mind and many years of experience are invaluable to clients, especially those with challenging qualifying scenarios. “I never promise something that is not going to happen,” he says, “but I am able to structure loans and help with explanation letters, so that when it goes to the underwriter, we tell the story in the right way. One of the most important things is to put it really well, and I use those skills so that by the time it gets to underwriting, it is basically a done deal.”

Making people’s dreams of home ownership come true is a team effort, and Javier says that one of the differentiators at loanDepot is its commitment to delivering loan products and policies that set borrowers up for success. “One of the things I like about loanDepot is that if there is a disagreement about guidelines, I can actually talk to someone about it. Our underwriters even work on Saturdays and Sundays. They have called me on a Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and said, ‘I’m going to start looking at your file. Will you be available if I have any questions?’ It’s the best way because any problems get solved right there. You’re talking to a human being who understands real life situations, not like the big banks that just follow guidelines. A lot of times, they will come back to you and say, ‘Why don’t we do it like this?’ and give me options to get it done. If the loan makes sense, we can usually make the deal happen.”

When they call me with a name and number, I find out as soon as possible if they are someone who is able to qualify. Whatever is in my pipeline is something I believe will be funded.”

As a professional, Javier is knowledgeable, hardworking and ethical, but it is his positivity that most inspires the people around him. “If you can dream it, you can achieve it,” he says. “You just have to put your mind to it. I’ve seen a lot of people succeed, and they all had one thing in common: they never took their eye off the goal. If someone wants to own a home, it is possible, and I can help them.”

3 Steps to Reaching Every Goal

H

aving goals in our lives is important. For some, merely creating goals brings about a positive change.

When you make a goal, you are creating an exciting challenge for yourself. To make sure you meet that challenge with the right tools, you will need to do three things.

1. WRITE IT DOWN The first step is to write your goal down on paper. This may seem like a simple step, but it makes your goal visible and tangible. Get out a clean sheet of paper, and write your goal down in clear words.

It doesn’t have to be a big dream for it to be useful. Any goal you have should be written down. It should also be somewhere you will look often, or pass by during the day.

2. BREAK IT DOWN You may have a goal of losing weight. This alone seems like a difficult thing to do. But when we break this goal down into its different parts, these smaller goals become easier to handle. Losing 10 lbs. seems overwhelming, but losing 1 lb. a month for ten months is something you can definately do.

3. REMIND YOURSELF With so many things to do during your busy day, your goals can sometimes be put aside. Write yourself a reminder, and place it where it will be seen often. Your fridge, bathroom mirror, or desk are just a few of the places where you could post your goal.

With these three steps, reaching your goals will be much easier. You want to be happy, and you deserve it.

ccording to Realtor® Jessica Thiele at Coldwell Banker Roadrunner Realty in Yucca Valley, real estate is in her blood. Growing up with a general contractor father, she says a family fun day was roaming the aisles at Home Depot. “Property management, construction and real estate have always been a part of my life,” she says. “I can’t imagine doing anything else.”

Jessica has overseen the construction of multiple spec homes and flips. She has purchased, managed and sold multiple personal properties, including a volume of bank repos acquired after the housing crash in the late 2000s.

Character Development How to be a Class Act

F

rom time to time someone gives another individual the ultimate compliment by saying, “You are a ‘class act,’” or by describing a specific behavior by saying, “That’s class.” From time to time a master of ceremonies will introduce an individual by saying, “If you go to the dictionary and look up the word ‘class,’ you will see a picture of your speaker this evening.”

A person with class is an individual of integrity, someone you would love to have as a parent or child, a friend or a neighbor, a mentor or an advisor.

In short, class identifies a person who is “top drawer,” one who goes the extra mile by being gracious to everyone who courteously serves them.

I love the description given in comments made by Bill Daniels who said that “class is something you choose for yourself. It’s competing honestly, confronting problems head-on, taking accolades with grace and humility and not knocking your competitors. If you have class you’re loyal to both yourself and to those around you. Class is born out of self-

respect and a healthy respect for others. Everything in this world is not always attainable. Fortunately, class is.”

Class is the coach who gives every child on the team his turn “at bat” without regard to the youngster’s ability or the won-lost record of the team.

I encourage you to identify someone who is a class act and use that person as a role model. The individual might not be rich and famous or even brilliant, but a person of class is one we can all aspire to be.

ealtor® Martin Yankov is not only a partner in the Stellar Real Estate Group at Realty Masters & Associates in Rancho Cucamonga, he is a true American success story. Originally from Bulgaria, Martin immigrated to the United States in the early 2000s and worked his way up through sales and management in a prominent telecommunications company. From there, he opened an auto dealership, and when he purchased his first home, he hired Aaron Stel as his Realtor®.

“I never thought about getting into the real estate business. However, during the process of purchasing my first property, I experienced the excitement of buying a new home and I instantly fell in love. It was then when I realized I wanted to be a real estate agent.

There’s No Rule Of Success That Says We Have To Get It Right The First Time Out

I

t’s true — there’s no rule that says we have to get things right on our first try. Boy am I glad this is the case. In fact I think you’d be hard pressed to find many people that “got it right” the first few times they attempted to go after their goals and dreams.

What we undoubtedly do find as we search through the countless stories of those that have had the courage to live their dreams is that they had an over abundance of ambition and sheer persistence. They held onto the idea of what they wanted and said, “by golly I am not going to give up till I reach it!”. I hope you don’t mind me putting that little ‘Leave it to Beaver’ spin on that, but I wanted to make a point

You see, in more cases than not we find illustration after illustration of people that worked their basic idea. Rather than letting not reaching the goal beat

them down they used it as a lesson to learn from. It is through these life lessons that they acquired the skills necessary to eventually attain what they wanted to achieve. Follow your plan!

Don’t be afraid of the bumps that you might meet along the way. Rather, try your best to accept that they are part of the journey. My friend you deserve no less!

The Top Six Ways to Stay Motivated

I

receive many emails from people that basically ask the same question: How can I keep myself motivated long term? This seems to be quite a common dilemma for many people so I want to address it because it can be done!

Here are my tips for staying motivated:

1. Get Motivated Every Day. Zig Ziglar was once confronted about being a “motivational speaker.” The guy said to him, “You guys come and get people hyped up and then you leave and the motivation goes away. It doesn’t last, and then you have to get motivated again.”

Zig reminded the gentleman that baths are the same way but we think it is a good idea to take a bath every day! It is true that motivation doesn’t last.

We have to renew it each and every day. That is okay. It doesn’t make motivation a bad thing. We simply have to realize that if we want to stay motivated over the long term, it is something we will have to apply to ourselves each and every day.

2. Have a Vision for Your Life.

The root word of motivation is “motive.” The definition of motive is, “A reason to act.” This is the cognitive or rational side of motivation. It is your vision. You have to have a vision that is big enough to motivate you.

If you are making $50,000 a year, it isn’t going to motivate you to set your goal at $52,000 a year. You just won’t get motivated for that because the reward isn’t enough.

Maybe $70,000 a year would work for you. Set out a vision and a strategy for getting there. Have a plan and work the plan.

3. Fuel Your Passion.

Much of motivation is emotional. I don’t know quite how it works but I do know THAT it works. Emotion is a powerful force in getting us going. Passion is an emotion, so fuel your passion. “Well, I like to work on logic,” you may say. Great, now work on your passion. Set yourself on a course to have a consuming desire for your goal, whatever it is. Do whatever you can to feel the emotion and use it to your advantage!

4. Work Hard Enough to Get Results.

You can build on your motivation by getting results. The harder you work, the more results you will get and the more 30

results you get, the more you will be motivated to get more.

These things all build on one another.

If you want to lose weight, then lose the first few pounds.

When the belt moves to the next notch you will get fired up to get it to the notch beyond that!

5. Put Good Materials into Your Mind.

I can’t say this enough – listen to audios. I still listen to audios regularly. I buy audio clubs from other speakers and I learn and grow. Their successes motivate me to get my own successes!

Read good books. Read books that teach you new ideas and skills. Read books that tell the stories of successful people. Buy them, read them, and get motivated! Buy great music and listen to it. I just did a spinning class at the club today. Whenever a good song came on I was actually able to get motivated to ride faster! It gets you going and motivates you!

6. Ride the Momentum when It Comes.

Sometimes you will just be clicking and sometimes you won’t. That is okay. It is the cycle of life. When you aren’t clicking, plug away.

When you are clicking, pour it on because momentum will help you get larger gains in a shorter period of time with less energy. That is the momentum Equation! When you are feeling good about how your work is going, ride the momentum and get as much out of it as you can!

These are the top six ways to stay motivated: Get motivated every day.

Have a vision for your life.

Fuel your passion.

Work hard enough to get results.

Put good materials into your mind.

Ride the momentum when it comes.

These are simple principles, that when you put them to work regularly, will change your life by keeping you motivated all the time! So don’t wait — Get going!

hen you get right down to it, there are really only two types of people in this world, those who build bridges and those who do not. Are you a bridge builder? You very well may be and not even know it.

Bridge builders are team players and go out of their way to render support and encouragement to people they meet along the road of life. They truly understand the power of a well-timed kind word and the importance of sincere appreciation.

Bridge builders make outstanding mentors because of their eagerness to share and nurture. They are terrific role models and leaders in every sense of the word. Bridge builders unselfishly invest their time and energy helping others to reach their full potential. Bridge builders are always quick to praise people who have mentored them on their journey. They are extremely grateful that someone recognized their talent and helped them develop their potential.

Bridge builders help others not for personal gain or credit, but simply because it is the right thing to do. They do not build bridges for the sake of mere recognition; they build because it is in their very nature to do so. Bridge builders care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is safe and expect more than others believe is possible!
