Faith Wise ‘Service is a Matter of Pride’ By Shannon Hartsoe - Ian Wiant Photographer

I

t’s been said that in the world of real estate, there are successful agents and there are successful mentors. Faith Wise is one of those rare individuals who is comfortable moving equally well between both roles. Her road to becoming a Real Estate Consultant and Mentor with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in San Diego started early. As a teenager she ran a business in which she would travel and buy accessories and clothing from Europe then sell them to her friends. Later she would spend summers working for a French catalog company that sold apparel. Eventually, Faith opened her own business – a successful coffee house called Java Cup, a subsidiary of La Piazza Inc. She loved everything about running a business

– the organizational aspect, working with her customers and managing the day-to-day operations of the shop. She realized early on that she possessed a true entrepreneurial spirit. It was during this period in her life when Faith began to seriously entertain thoughts of a career in real estate. Having sold the coffee shop, Faith was able to afford her first home – a positive experience that continues to motivate her. “I sold my business and bought my first house,” she says. “I had an amazing experience and felt so proud about owning my first home. I wanted to be able to share the same experience with my clients by believing in the American Dream of owning a home. To this day that is still my everyday aspiration.”

Her clients have come to expect the highest level of professionalism and service, two traits Faith has made central to her professional career since those early jobs during her teenage years. “I never settle for less than the highest professional standards. My mission statement explains my real estate ethics: ‘Service is a Matter of Pride.’ My goal is to go well beyond the standard level of service provided by

most real estate agents and to build lifelong relationships with my clients based on satisfaction, confidence and performance.” Faith offers clients more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience: using various creative, advertising/ marketing techniques based on the individual needs of the client and their property. Clients also benefit from her specialization in residential and investment properties, estate sales, land sales and exchanges.

From Teen Entrepreneur to Real Estate Success Faith’s background also includes a bachelor’s degree in business administration and international business from George Washington University.

“I want to make a difference in each and every life of my clients by helping them achieve their dream of owning a home.”

“I have a comprehensive knowledge of economic trends and data analysis of property values,” she says. “I’m a naturally skilled negotiator and provide my clients with a creative, customized approach in promoting and advertising using the latest tools technology has to offer.” Faith works closely with sellers to help them understand current market conditions. Each listing is given a five-star treatment – from professional staging services to state-of-the art marketing and listing brochures. For her buyers, Faith listens to their needs and helps them find the perfect property. “I don’t settle for less than the best and I don’t expect my clients to either,” she says.

She’s also making a difference in the lives of other agents by serving as a mentor. By passing on what she knows, Faith is able to help groom the next generation of successful agents – agents who are ready to give their clients the same kind of attention that Faith has made her hallmark.

Her successes since becoming a real estate agent some 11 years ago include being ranked in the top 8 percent in the nation among Coldwell Banker agents and winning the President’s Circle Award in 2004. Faith also has earned the Top Producer Award every year since 2007.

“Because of Faith’s success and dedication I chose her to be a mentor in my office. I want our new agents learning from the best,” says Tasha Manzano, vice president and director of business development at Title365 and former Coldwell Banker manager. “One of my favorite things about Faith is her enthusiasm and wonderful laugh. So when you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with her, know you will be cared for at the highest level and you’ll have fun in the process. That’s a great combination!” Faith knows the importance of mentoring. She credits her current and former branch managers for much of her growth and success in real estate sales.

“Jeff Nunn was my previous branch manager. I consider my success as a direct result of Jeff’s guidance and inspiration. I consider my dad as my idol in my life and Jeff Nunn is my idol in the real estate world.” Faith praises her current manager, Melanie Casey, for “going above and beyond her managerial duties to support us.” “She sets high standards and is always there to provide guidance with an appropriate degree of empowerment and feedback.” Outside of work, Faith is heavily involved in various activities in San Diego, including serving on the San Diego County Crime Commission. “I lead an active life in lovely San Diego and I believe ‘it’s not about making a living, it’s about making a life!’”

plant, the plumeria, and practicing my culinary creativity. When I can, I find it rewarding to train and rescue dogs in addition to helping them find safe homes. I also love to travel, though it always makes me keenly aware of the meaning of home.” Despite her busy life, Faith holds onto the high standards she learned early on in her professional career to help guide her today. “Excellence is never an accident,” she says. “It is always intentional, and it always demands more than the norm. Excellence is the achievements you set your sights on that will set you apart, for it will color your character with destiny of leadership.”

“For me that life includes long walks with friends or my dog, gardening -- specifically, nurturing my favorite
