R

ealtor® David Rios was born with a gift for design. Growing up on the edge of Orange County in a family of humble means, he felt an innate passion for architectural and design aesthetics, and he expressed his creativity by rearranging furnishings in the homes of friends and family members.

At only 16 years of age, David began working

for a collection agency, and there he learned the fundamentals of building and maintaining credit. In time, he attended the Fashion Institute of Design and began working with two interior designers. “I jumped into a Beverly Hills showroom raw working with architects, designers and builders. I was going to job sites and learning every single day. I couldn’t wait to get to work each day.”

David continued to provide credit repair services as a sideline, and then he met real estate broker Sonia Carrera-Vanek. “My work with credit led to my understanding loans. Sonia had a blanket mortgage li-

cense, and she taught me how to do mortgage loans.

The client following I had developed in my early 20s segued right into real estate. Eventually, I got out of design to focus on real estate completely.�

“Designing What You Love” In a short time, David realized that he could enhance his real estate practice by integrating his design skills.

Today, he is a sought-after real estate professional throughout California, known for his instinctive ability to bring a home’s unique features into vivid focus, be it an American Craftsman, a sleek Mid-century Modern or a Contemporary home. “I love designing for people with the intention of selling a home, or helping buyers create the space they want to live in. Nothing is more exciting to me than bringing someone else’s vision to life. People appreciate that I am able to work with the aesthetic of house, elevating their goals and interests while tying in the surrounding area.”

David’s financial background further enhances the value he brings to a real estate transaction. He en-

courages clients to think beyond a single transaction and treat their home as a longterm investment.

“I sit down and do a financial plan to understand their goals for the property and then create a future plan for them based upon their intentions for the house and who will reside there. A first home is the foundation for their retirement. When they are ready to move up, I always encourage clients to keep a home as an investment rather than selling. When people purchase a home, sometimes they look at a 30-year commitment as a negative. I see it as a chance to branch into four or five other properties, a stepping stone to create your forever income. There are so many avenues I teach people about the many ways they can maximize their investment.”

David is a celebrated Realtor® recognized among the top 1 percent among the Pacific West Association of REALTORS® (PWR). But he is most known for being a kind, lovable guy who always has a hug for everyone he meets. He begins each morning on a positive note with meditation and a workout. He is also a music lover and gourmet cook who enjoys hosting large parties and client appreciation events.

“I feel it is my purpose in life to give education and love to people,” he says.

David conducts his business with the slogan: “Design what you love.” and clients can anticipate his

umique collaborations in 2020 with Living Spaces, Z Gallerie, Floor & Decor, HomeGoods, and Home Depot! in 2020. After more than 20 years in real estate, he is helping a second generation of buyers and sellers design a life they love around their greatest financial investment. “It’s never too late to invest in a home,” he says. “A lot of people are scared to do that, and they need to know that I will give them guidance from A to Z and never leave their side. I will be there to support them in anything for their home or just with friendship.
