Celia Chu Executive Agent of the Month

C

elia Chu describes her decades-long career in real estate as more than a job. For her, real estate is a passion. And these many years later, her enthusiasm for the business is as great as ever.

A native of Southern California, Celia graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in finance, and she began her career as a loan officer in consumer and business lending. Celia quickly put her knowledge of finance and real estate into action, buying her first property at only 21 years of age.

Today, Celia is an award-winning Realtor® at Coldwell Banker Town & Country in Claremont, where she is sought for her professional acumen and integrity by clients from first-time buyers to savvy investors. “I’m not just in sales,” Celia says. “I feel I’m a consultant to my clients. My job is to help people with their real estate transaction and serve each customer equally, whether they are buying a mobile home or a property that costs millions. I treat everyone with respect and kindness, listen to them and concentrate on their needs. I’m here to help them, to tell them the truth. If I think a property is not good for them, I’ll say so.”

Celia’s diverse real estate practice includes residential and commercial transactions, owner occupied and investment properties. While she focuses primarily on residential real estate, she also has the expertise to advise clients through the purchase and sale of raw land, multi-unit dwellings and commercial and industrial properties. “I provide concierge service. Whatever my client wants, I’ll help them get it,”

Celia is highly focused and energetic, with strong communication and negotiation skills. Her lifelong zeal for learning has inspired her to embrace technology and leverage it to enhance the experience and results she creates for her clients. She recently helped a client from Hawaii purchase a home sight unseen in California, while managing the entire transaction virtually.

Celia has also mastered the art of social media. She says, “You need to be very proactive and create great content, with great photos and videos. That’s how people are finding their property these days. I totally understand it and manage multiple pages and subscribe to several apps. I create a lot of videos and go the extra step. I send people my virtual business card, which is a video of the place they’re going to look at, and includes my name, branding and address. It’s a way to differentiate myself.”

As a certified Coldwell Banker Global Luxury agent, Celia works with sophisticated buyers from around the world. She brings an organic understanding of the needs of high-net-worth individuals. She maintains a network of reliable professionals from contractors to lawyers who can assist to make every aspect of a transaction a seamless experience.

However, Celia enjoys working with clients from all backgrounds and at every price point. Due to her expertise in

finance and lending, she is able to prequalify her clients and set reliable expectations about how much house they can buy. “I know a lot of programs for first-time buyers and am willing to hold their hand all the way through it. I’m so happy to help someone get into their first house, and I give them all the attention and information to make an informed decision. I enjoy providing great service and having fun at it.”

Professionalism Meets Enthusiasm A longtime resident of Claremont, Celia and her husband have three grown children, and Celia describes them as a “really sporty family.” Celia plays as hard as she works, and enjoys everything from water and snow skiing to salsa dancing. She also places a high priority on giving back to the community. She contributes to many organizations, including the Make a Wish Foundation and Wounded Warriors Foundation. She also volunteers as a board member of the San Antonio Hospital Foundation in Upland.
