

When he purchased his first property at only 23 years of age, Caleb Keith Gonzalez says he was bitten by the real estate bug. At the time, he was working in corporate America, and he approached real estate as a hobby. But after purchasing multiple properties and working with various real estate professionals, he decided his true calling was to use what he had learned to help other people buy and sell real estate successfully. Caleb opened his independent brokerage, VonKeith Properties, nearly 18 years ago, and his brand remains an agency of choice throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties.
From locations in Burbank and Dana Point, Caleb and his team live up to their tagline, “Excellence in Real Estate,” by delivering service characterized by care. “One of the things I had observed is that some of the larger real estate entities had lost a bit of that customer service care,” Caleb says. “By staying small and independent, we are able to fill that gap for clients.”
Caleb’s mission is to be 100 percent clientfocused. “We’re not just here today and gone tomorrow — we want a longterm relationship with our clients. Everyone on our team knows how critical that is. We all strive to understand our clients’ needs and make sure they feel heard and seen.”
Long before the pandemic made it a necessity, Caleb prioritized technology as essential to deliv ering efficient real estate representation. He has long encouraged everybody in his offices to go paperless and incorporate smart technologies. “Since we can do virtually everything from our phones, I want to make sure the information our agents need is in hand. Everything is always readily available, so there is never a time when the agent is left saying they left a document at home or on their desk in the office. Of course, some clients are not as tech savvy, so we will work with them in whatever way they are most comfortable.”
Caleb cautions potential buyers and sellers not to be daunted by fluctuations in the market and interest rates. “None of the negative messaging out there solves the immediate needs families have for housing,” he says. “We’re here to look at your situation, whatever it is, and help you figure it out. Right now is actually a very good time for buyers,
since they have the opportunity to negotiate, which they have not had for quite some time. For sellers, inventory remains low, so they can be sure to sell their property in a relatively short time. We can help buyers and sellers adjust their expectations to the current market and negotiate the best possible deal.”
Real estate continues to inspire Caleb because of the community impact of placing someone in a a home. “When you help someone sell or buy, you actually have a role in changing that part of the community. You’re giving people the opportunity to start a new journey and experience something maybe they thought they couldn’t. I love that about what we do.”
Caleb is deeply invested in the communities where he maintains offices, and volunteerism is both a personal and company value. “While I’m here, com munity involvement is key, and I encourage all of our team members to make sure they are giving back in some way. I think we have a responsibility to serve.” Caleb frequently participates in civic initiatives, and he serves as an ambassador for the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce, where he enjoys getting to know other local business owners and finding ways to support them.
Caleb also offers leadership and service to the real estate industry via participation in numerous organizations. He is currently chair of the California Regional Multiple Listing Service, the largest MLS in the world. He also serves on committees for local and state real estate associations. “I try to participate in NAR’s national convention every year, and I encourage everybody to do that, to see what’s going on and stay engaged. It’s important to be fully committed and understand your industry — not just do the minimum. That’s how we bring more value to our clients.”
