SELFISH WORLD

Selfish World A series about the homeless Elly Abraham-Leckie

Homelessness is one of the biggest problems the UK faces today, with over 4000 people sleeping rough every night. Bristol is one of the worst places for it outside of London, up to 1000 homeless on the streets every night. This work is trying to raise awareness of these situations, and show how selfish our society has become to their problems. Hundreds of people walking past every day, looking but not helping. No one wants to step outside of their own little world to help another, because they don’t want to admit it might happen to them. Set in pairs, the images are showing the movement of the street and how many people are walking past every second, yet still everyone turns a blind eye to their situations.
