Balloon Festival Car Show Rolls In

CAMBRIDGE — Start your engines and shine up those fenders—the 13th Annual Cambridge Lions Club Balloon Festival Car Show is ready to roll into town! Set for Saturday, June 7, 2025, this beloved event returns with new energy and a few more reasons to rev your engines. This year’s show will be held in the bus loop in front of Cambridge Central School, 24 South Park Street, the heart of the annual Cambridge Balloon Festival. The show kicks off at 10:00 a.m., with awards presented promptly at 1:30 p.m. Spectator admission is free, and vehicle registration is just $15 per car.

Entrants will compete for top honors in five vehicle categories—Best Antique Car/Truck, Best Classic Car/Truck, Best Muscle, Best Sports, Best In Show. Additional accolades include People’s Choice, Lions Choice, and the everpopular Queen of the Show, a special award reserved for female car owners showcasing their rides. Fuel your day with sizzling Yushak’s sweet and spicy sausage with peppers and onions,

plus a variety of snacks to keep you going. And don’t miss the classic car vibes provided by Lions Club DJ Jim Cypher, spinning tunes throughout the event.

This year’s show is proudly brought to you by our Win, Place, and Show Sponsors: Lundgren Subaru of Bennington, Greenwich Ford, and Coggins Auto Group of Bennington, VT.

Cambridge Valley Flying Club Aviation Day/Fly-in

Look to the skies! The Cambridge Valley Flying Club invites you to one of the area’s most beloved traditions—Aviation Day at Chapin Memorial Field, just a mile north of the village.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, aviation lovers, families, and festivalgoers will gather for a day of planes, food, and community fun. Pilots from near and far will be flying in with an incredible variety of aircraft, including antiques, experimental builds, and even handmade planes crafted by their pilots.

Whether you’re a seasoned aviator or simply love the thrill of flight, this is a can’t-miss event. The field will be buzzing with energy all day long as visitors explore the grounds, chat with pilots, take in the sights and sounds of incoming aircraft, and enjoy an unbeatable lineup of freshly grilled food cooked by CVFC members right in the club’s hangar.

Many pilots will be arriving after enjoying breakfast at the popular Kline Kill Fly-In, then heading to Cambridge for lunch. Arrive early to sign up for a potential once-in-a-lifetime short flight with a CVFC pilot! Returning this year, the Hoosick Air Modelers will present a fantastic display of high-quality model aircraft and demonstrations of this exciting hobby. Classic Cars on Display: admire antique and specialty vehicles at the airfield, and don’t miss the Lions Club Car Show happening the same day at Cambridge Central School!

Delicious hangar food will include burgers, hot dogs, desserts, and more, all prepared and served by the pilots themselves. CVFC members will be on hand to answer your questions about flying, aircraft, and how to become a member of the Cambridge Valley Flying Club.

Admission is free, and all food sales and donations benefit the CVFC Chapin Memorial Scholarship Fund, which supports a graduating senior from Cambridge Central School pursuing further education.
