AIRVENTURE TODAY

PHOTOS BY JIM LABRE

Above: WASPs Shutsy Reynolds and Dawn Seymour, seated, with Desiree Czaplinski of Aircraft Spruce and Specialty which donated the flight, and the crew of EAA’s B-17 Aluminum Overcast before Friday’s flight. From left: Mike Hastings, who flies left seat, crew chief Matt Wredeman, and Jim Laing, second-in-command. Top right: WASP Shutsy Reynolds at the radio operator’s position.

Above: WASP Dawn Seymour, 99, walks forward toward the cockpit. Seymour flew B-17s during World War II.

Below: For more than 25 years, the International Federal Partnership and EAA have worked with the Make-A-Wish program to invite children and their families to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh for a fun packed day. The smile on 6-year-old Isiah Patterson’s face shows the Denmark, Wisconsin boy had a great time on an ultralight flight.

Above: Chase Zitzelberger, 8, of Stockbridge, Wisconsin, checks out some ultralights. The children received rides on the Ford Tri-Motor and a Blackhawk helicopter, toured the Oshkosh Tower and the Federal Pavilion, and watched the afternoon air show from the performers’ tent as part of Make-A-Wish.
