OSHKOSH WELCOME TO

EVERY YEAR WE ASK, “How is AirVenture going to be more enjoyable than last year?” Yet, somehow, it always works out. Each AirVenture builds on the last — we connect with our old friends, add new ones, and our aviation family grows. This year promises to be no different.

AirVenture brings together all of aviation, with so much for people to see and do. There are air shows and aircraft on static display in each of our community neighborhoods — homebuilts, vintage, warbirds, aerobatics, and ultralights. There are places to eat, movies to watch, parties (planned or otherwise) to attend, and forums and workshops for hands-on learning. And then there’s the shopping, with vendors and exhibitors showing off the latest gadgetry.

We’re proud that AirVenture is a family-friendly event with so many activities — not to mention free admission — for young people. It’s vital that we continue to bring more people into the aviation community, and experiencing AirVenture is the only way someone can see the whole landscape in one place. Our convention brings with it the understanding that someone can participate in aviation at any level, from being an enthusiast to a professional pilot, and everything in between, including mechanics, marketers, writers, accountants, designers, engineers, air traffic controllers — everyone who plays a part in our world of flying.

It takes a lot to set the stage for the magic of Oshkosh, and, of course, it simply couldn’t happen without our volunteers. They’re a precious commodity that have been the backbone of EAA for 70 years, and some families have been involved for generations. Be sure to thank them when you see them.

Every AirVenture is special, and this year will be no exception. I hope you’ll all agree, and I look forward to seeing everyone around the grounds. Welcome to Oshkosh!
