BUILDING FUTURES, CHANGING LIVES

Our aim is to provide the very best learning and personal development opportunities and we strive to nurture a caring and supportive atmosphere. This means each student is recognised as an individual, actively encouraging their participation in our rich selection of wider school activities.
We aim to develop confident young people who aspire to continually improve and who are well prepared for the next steps in life.
Our highest expectations of all our students and staff encourage a continuous development of learning and a drive for knowledge. Our teaching aims to inspire students to develop a passion for their subjects and we hold effort at the heart of our rewards system.
The best way to see our academy is to book a personal tour. Please contact us if you wish to see our academy in action.
Dr Jayne Bartlett HeadteacherWe are proud to be one of 28 E-ACT academies in England.
Our community includes over 18,000 pupils and 2,300 teachers and non-teaching professionals across the country.
As an E-ACT academy we share ideas with other academies in the trust in ways other schools may not be able to. Our pupils and staff also feel part of something much bigger.
We have a great partnership with our family academies; E-ACT Heartlands and E-ACT North Birmingham who are a short distance away.
Our values turn students into well rounded, young citizens.
Respect
Acknowledging the mutual importance and autonomy of all individuals within our school community.
Tolerance
Celebrating and recognising the value inherent in our diversity.
Aspiration
Striving for the best for yourself and those around you.
Resilience
Having the strength of character to learn from challenge and adversity.
Responsibility
Taking ownership of your attitude, thoughts and actions.
We offer a personalised curriculum that nurtures the talents of each individual. Our curriculum covers traditional academic subjects but also meets the needs of the modern world.
At E-ACT Shenley Academy, we don’t just teach your child to dream, we also teach your child how to make their dreams a reality. To make this happen, we will expose your child to a broad range of subjects and experiences to help them find out where their passion lies. Our curriculum includes the following subjects:

We value our students’ input into how the school operates and where we can develop our practice. The importance of consulting students about their views on their learning is an integral part of the success of the E-ACT Shenley Academy.
We care about how the school is run and we want to be part of how our school improves. As it is important for our education and future. So, we as students have a passion to come to school to thrive.
Zac - Year 10 Student
Not only do we focus on academic excellence, we also work with different associations to help develop particular skillsets for each and every student.
We work closely with AimHigher Plus - a partnership of universities, schools and colleges in the West Midlands who help deliver a variety of workshops, trips and events both in and out of school.
We are pleased to be working with the University of Birmingham’s Forward Thinking programme - a higher education awareness activity designed to encourage and support future application to higher education. Designed to support appropriate subject choices in Year 9 and 11.
The national network connects schools and colleges with employers and careers programme providers and supports them to provide young people with effective and high-quality encounters with the world of work.
Through schemes such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award our students take part in regular volunteering and community work.
The Duke of Edinburgh award is a life-changing experience: a fun time with friends, an opportunity to discover new interests and talents, a tool to develop essential skills for life and work, a recognised mark of achievement – and is highly respected by employers.
The academy’s approach to pastoral care is founded in clear values and a zero stigma to mental health.
Through my mental health first aid training, I feel empowered to support our students.
