Welcome to The SpongeBob Musical! As we dive into Bikini Bottom this year, we’re celebrating more than just a show—we’re celebrating 25 years of SpongeBob SquarePants, that optimistic, spongey hero whose unshakable positivity continues to inspire fans of all ages.
In this musical, we’re reminded that no matter how big the storm or how deep the sea, the power of friendship, belief in yourself, and a little bit of music can save the day. And let’s be honest—what could be more fun than a musical where a talking sponge and his friends face down an impending volcanic eruption with tap-dancing, rock music, and a lot of heart?
From Squidward’s existential crisis to Patrick’s uninhibited wisdom, from Sandy’s scientific genius to SpongeBob’s infectious enthusiasm, we’ve got a cast of characters who prove that even in the weirdest, most chaotic moments, you can find something to laugh about—and maybe even change the world in the process.

Sophia Alexander is 15 years old, and she’s excited to be in Hampshire High School’s The Spongebob Musical! Sophia has been doing musicals since she was in second grade, and this is her first at Hampshire. She would like to shout out her parents for driving her to-and-from rehearsals, shows, and tech. Sophia would like to thank her friends for the memories, and for inspiring her throughout this process. She’s made some incredible friendships throughout this process, and can’t wait to continue doing more musicals! Enjoy the show!

Ashley Alvarado is a senior at Hampshire High School and this will be her first (official) musical at Hampshire. She wants to thank her parents for their endless love and support with all of her adventures over the years and would like to thank Mr. Cherry for taking a chance on her with the role of Pearl Krabs. With a passion for performing arts, she plans to pursue musical theatre in college. Noelle is a senior and this is her 4th musical at HHS. Out of all the musicals she has done, this is by far her favorite she has performed in. SpongeBob is such a fun, exciting, and action-packed show, and in addition to that, Noelle was given the amazing opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream and perform some nifty tap moves! She’d like to thank her family, friends, Mr. Cherry, the stage managers, and Riley for their support and encouragement.

Raycelin is so excited for her second show at Hampshire High School! When she heard she would be playing an electric skate she was excited, because she loves punk and other rock subcultures, so it just fit. She enjoys singing and playing her instruments. This isn’t her first time playing a rocker under the sea as she stared as Crush in Finding Nemo Jr and Sponge in James and the Giant peach Jr with CTE. She would like to thank her parents for introducing her to the music and arts that got her playing this role today. Now sit back, relax, and get ready to rock!

JOHNNY THE BARTENDER
Is a Freshman, and is excited to be in his first show at HHS. He previously performed in three musicals and two fall plays at DMS. Within the music department, he is a member of the Concert Choir and Concert Orchestra, and outside of the music department, he is a member of the Debate Team as well as the Literary Magazine and Student Ambassadors. Additionally, he played golf last fall, and plans to play tennis this spring. Alex is a senior at Hampshire High School. SpongeBob will be his fourth (and last) musical performed at HHS where he will get to play the Foley Artist, creating sound effects on stage as they happen. COWBOY FISH
Ian is currently a Junior at Hampshire High School. He has been in 3 other productions not including this one: Flowers for Algernon his freshman year, as well as The Prom and the 2024 One Acts his sophomore year. Following this production, he will go on to portray two roles in Wrinkle in Time, and will be in this year’s One Acts as well.

Alex is a freshman and this is his first show at HHS, marking his fifth musical production. He’s previously been in The Sound of Music, Annie Jr, Beauty and the Beast Jr, and Willy Wonka Jr. He would like to thank his friends, family, and fellow cast mates for helping and encouraging him through this production.

Jomar is a Freshman at Hampshire High School. This is his first production here at HHS, but he has been involved in other productions in the past. Leah Grace is a senior at HHS, and this will be her last musical! She will be in her 6th overall production, and she is excited to end her experience with SpongeBob. Outside of the musical, she is also involved in other areas of the music department, including band and choir. This is Rolando’s 4th year doing musicals at Hampshire High School. He is excited to be playing Patchy for this year’s SpongeBob Musical. For six years, he has been playing a variety of fun and energetic characters as well as being a featured dancer. He hopes to make a big bang with his performance and tap dancing. Dedicating this performance to his mom, dad, family, friends, and teachers that have supported him throughout his musical journey. Sireen Sihweil is 14 years old and a freshman at HHS. She had so much fun participating in her middle school (DMS) musicals The Little Mermaid Jr, Moana Jr, and Seussical Jr. She likes to sing, to act, be around others, and be helpful. She is currently in Treble Chorus. This is her first musical at HHS and has had so much fun over these last few months and has made a lot of friends. She is thrilled to be a part of HHS’s production of SpongeBob. She wants to thank her directors for such an amazing show and hopes that you will enjoy it!

Brandon is excited to be performing in this production of The SpongeBob Musical! This is his third show with Hampshire High School, and fourth overall. He is currently a junior, and can be found in many areas of the HHS music department, including the Chamber Choir and Vocal Jazz ensembles. He is also interested in engineering. He hopes that you have as much fun with the show as the cast has had!

Ava Terry is a Junior at Hampshire High School. This is her third musical at HHS, and her thirteenth show in total. As well as being in choir, she plays cello in orchestra. Ava is so excited to play Karen as it is different from any character she has played before. Karen’s dead-pan demeanor is a fun challenge to convey emotions. And of course, Karen’s sassy personality makes it a fun role to take on. Sam is 16 years old and a Sophomore here at Hampshire. He has been doing theatre for 4 years and has done shows for DMS, HHS, and FVTC. This is his 9th show overall, whether that be onstage or behind the scenes. He was in Hampshire’s fall play, Almost Maine, and will be back on stage for A Wrinkle in Time this spring. Audrey is thrilled to be part of her fourth and final musical at HHS. Audrey has had a passion for music since she was 7 years old. Her favorite past roles include Emma (The Prom), Sophie (Mamma Mia!) and Johanna (Sweeney Todd). Last year, Audrey was honored to be nominated for Best Actress at the Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards as well as making it to state for ILMEA two years in a row. Kay is a sophomore at Hampshire High School. She loves to sing, cook, read, and hang out with her cats. Kay loves her teachers, especially her director Mr. Cherry. Luca is a violinist that has been playing his instrument for over 8 years. He loves music in general, and is also an athlete, mostly participating in running sports. He’s also regarded by many as a smart person. He can make friends with anyone that he comes across, and is almost impossible to get on his bad side.

This is Kaitie’s first time doing the musical for the school. She has been in band for 8 years, as well as playing piccolo for 3. She is so excited to be able to be part of the musical this year, and can’t wait to see how everyone enjoys the show. She has enjoyed the past few months learning the music, and is excited to show everyone what we were able to accomplish!

Dani Godinez is a senior at Hampshire High, and this show is going to be Dani’s third year performing in the pit orchestra along with working with costumes. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to good times, but each musical has and will bring fond memories, and she looks forward for each show night for the HHS production of SpongeBob: The Musical.

Faith is a senior at Hampshire High School and has been an instrumentalist for 10 years. This is her second opportunity to play in the pit orchestra after playing her junior year in The Prom on clarinet, alto sax, and tenor sax. She was also a part of the musical her freshman year in The Addams Family, as well as in multiple shows before high school. She hopes that this show will give everybody the opportunity to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 60 songs that she and the rest of the pit learned to enhance this show that the cast, crew, and directors have spent so much time and energy putting together. Clare is a senior and has been playing flute for 8 years now and Piccolo for 2 years. She is not only part of Wind Ensemble but also Concert band. She has enjoyed participating in Madrigal’s for the past 2 years as well as marching band, which is her favorite part of band. This is Clare’s first time being a part of the pit for the musical, so she is very excited!

Rachel Shepherd is super excited to be a part of the pit orchestra for their final year! Previously, they have been in the cast ensemble for both The Addams Family Musical and The Little Mermaid and played the violin and viola part for The Prom. Though Rachel is sad that it is her last show, she enjoys all the friendships formed and memories made along the way and hopes you enjoy the show!

Kendall is a freshman and is so excited to be in this year’s production of SpongeBob. This is his 4th year playing the Trombone. This is his first time being in a pit but he has been in 3 other musicals. He would like to shout out Cash Gohde just for being awesome.

Greyson is thrilled to be part of Hampshire High School’s The SpongeBob Musical! This is his second show at HHS, following an unforgettable experience doubling on violin and viola in the IHSTF All-State production of The Prom.
