In June of 2022, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) sued Trends Investments Inc. (Trends), Brandon Rossetti, Clinton Greyling, Leslie Greyling, Roger Bendelac, and Thomas Capellini, alleging several counts of securities fraud. Clinton Greyling quickly settled with the SEC, and the court entered a consent judgment against him on September 23, 2022. Trends, Rossetti, and Leslie Greyling defaulted, and the court entered judgment against them on April 25, 2023. The claims against Bendelac and Capellini proceeded through a lengthy and contentious period of discovery, leading to a four-day bench trial that convened the week of October 15, 2024.
