What Is a Telescopic Cylinder and How Does It Work?

A telescopic cylinder is a kind of a hydraulic cylinder which has different pipes or sleeves fitted into one another. It is also referred to as a multi-stage cylinder which is a type of linear actuator consisting of different sleeves. The sleeves are built inside one another, normally four or five, and keep decreasing in diameter. These sleeves or cylinders enable you to increase the output of speed and force when used in industrial projects.

The main cylinder accommodates the rest of the cylinders placed inside one another. The main inlet for hydraulic fluid to enter the cylinder is provided on the outermost cylinder, with inlets also provided on each subsequent sleeve.
