Whilst being simple in design the functional focus in technicality was to discretely conceal functional elements such as: blinds, windows, drainage and ventilation within the column and beam structure.
Following the specification a slender and modular design which can open up and also be fully closed.
AXONOMETRIC PERGOLA
The choice to over-arch the horizontal beams with the connected column and beam structure provides an open and airy space.
Whilst this is a competition entry the practicality to resolve the issue within the brief must be answered in such a fashion that complies and is in-line with the standard of the company.
Reducing the limitation of the capacity of concealing technical aspects within the design.
This was a consideration which follows suit of that of the designs by Pratic.
