The Upper School at Dwight is a place where students grow into confident, capable, and compassionate young adults. Across the Middle Years Program (MYP), students experience remarkable personal and academic development. At Dwight, the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) provides a rich framework for nurturing curiosity and inspiring young learners to ask questions, explore ideas, and make meaningful connections. Our Early Childhood Division (ECD) and Lower School are closely connected, each playing a vital role in the PYP while o ering experiences tailored to the needs of our youngest learners and those beginning their elementary journey.

History
150 Years of Legacy
Dwight School’s legacy dates back to 1872 as a landmark educational institution in New York City, and we celebrate 150 years of igniting the spark of genius in every child. Dwight was designed to prepare graduates for admission to prestigious universities, and our namesake is Yale’s twelfth president, Timothy Dwight V.
Dwight School Seoul, founded in 2012, continues the legacy of innovation and personalized learning as the best IB Continuum School in Seoul. It is the only school selected by the Seoul Municipal Government to open a model IB World School in Seoul.
Today, Dwight School Seoul is part of the global network of Dwight Schools.

Our Early Childhood Division fosters a strong sense of community and global awareness while helping children develop purpose and confidence. Following the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, our program integrates research-based inquiry practices to provide an exceptional learning experience for children aged 2 to 5.
At the ECD PYP Students will:

Preschool (Ages 2–4)
In Preschool, children engage in developmentally appropriate, guided experiences that nurture a strong sense of self. Fine motor skill development is emphasized to encourage independence. Immersion in English, supported by home languages, enhances both comprehension and language production.
Kindergarten (Ages 5–6)
Kindergarten is a time for children to discover and develop their unique talents and interests. Our students approach learning with curiosity, feeling safe to take risks and learn from mistakes. The program incorporates evidence-based approaches, including:

Primary Years Program (PYP)

Grades 3–4 (Ages 8–10)

Grade 5 (Ages 10–11)
Students grow as independent learners and mentors to younger peers. The PYP Exhibition challenges them to research, collaborate, and take action, culminating in a showcase of their learning and agency.
PYP Exhibition
The PYP Exhibition is a culminating learning experience where Grade 5 students engage in in-depth, evidence-based inquiry. It highlights their ability to research, reflect, and take meaningful action, while applying the knowledge and skills developed throughout the Primary Years Program. This milestone marks their transition to MYP and celebrates their growth as independent, internationally minded learners.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) at Dwight School Seoul
Dwight School Seoul is the first IB Continuum School in Seoul, South Korea, o ering the full International Baccalaureate curriculum from Early Childhood (ECD) and the Primary Years Program (PYP) through to the Middle Years Program (MYP) and the Diploma Program (DP). In October 2024, our school proudly rea rmed its excellence, having attained successful evaluation across all three IB programs.
