This editorial was born from a collective of industry professionals with a creative vision to blend tradition and beauty for the ultimate shoot inspiration. Charlotte Ricard-Quesada of La Fête explains:

“When we envisioned this editorial, it was always about harmony - the harmony between Tenerife’s volcanic landscapes and the beauty of an Indian wedding brought to life in pastel tones of vibrant colours. Instead of the traditional bold saturation, we softened the palette into layers of blush, peach, mint and lilac - hues that still carried the spirit and energy of celebration, in a way that felt ethereal against the island’s dramatic backdrops. Every detail was designed to let colour become the storyteller. Flowing fabrics in delicate shades dance in the ocean breeze, floral arrangements mirrored the vibrancy of Indian traditions while melting into the natural textures of the island and tablescapes celebrated craftsmanship with subtle yet striking combinations.”

The Canary Islands, with their dramatic landscapes and ethereal light, possess an innate magic that seems to have been specifically crafted for the telling of beautiful love stories. They sit undeniably at the very pinnacle of desirable destinations for romantic photography. Chris J Evans shot this beautiful editorial and shares:

“Our shoot at the iconic Ritz-Carlton Abama was an experience akin to stepping directly into a dream. The setting offered a spectacular canvas: sun-soaked cliffs dropping into the Atlantic, meticulously manicured, lush gardens, the distinctive terracotta architecture that takes on a breathtaking, golden luminosity during the ‘golden hour,’ and sweeping, endless views where the horizon line truly feels like the earth meeting forever.

However, the element that elevated the entire experience from stunning to truly unforgettable was the beautiful couple themselves. Their vibrant South Asian heritage - the explosion of rich colour, the inherent elegance of their attire and the meaningful, deep-rooted rituals didn’t just coexist with the island backdrop; it soared. It was a perfect collision of ‘beauty on beauty’ - a sophisticated blending of culture and coastline, tradition wrapped entirely in the warm, glorious sunlight of Tenerife. It was one of those rare, serendipitous moments where the extraordinary environment and the intimate, profound love story meet each other at the absolutely perfect moment.”

The entire vision behind the bespoke Henna design was born from a considered desire to seamlessly bridge the rich tapestry of cultural heritage and the timeless traditions of India with an air of refined, modern luxury and sophistication. Since the scene was set in the distinctly Western European location of Tenerife, Halimah, the artist behind Hbeauty, wanted to integrate a clear, yet subtle, Western element into the ancient art form. Drawing deep inspiration from centuries-old Henna traditions, Hbeauty reimagined the art with a bold, contemporary sensibility. This was expressed through the innovative use of pristine white henna and delicate pearl embellishments. The result was a design that was truly stunning in its execution, deeply refined in its aesthetic, and profoundly intentional in its cultural fusion.

The creative inspiration for the bridal look was immediately sparked by the incredible, vivid colour palette of the bride’s exquisite Lehenga. This led KL Luxe to craft a makeup design focused on rich, harmonious hues of pinks to accentuate the vibrancy of her attire. “For the hair styling, our signature approach is to lean towards a more contemporary, fresh twist on traditional, classic structures. This ensures the look honours the heritage while remaining fashion-forward and fitting for a modern destination wedding.”

“It was a tremendous honour for our local team to be able to work alongside such a wonderful, internationally recognised group. We are deeply in love with our beautiful island home, and we passionately want to share its stunning, beautiful landscapes and unique natural beauty with the world.”

The celebrant, Jennifer Patrice, chose to participate as she was instantly and deeply drawn to this particular shoot because of the location. “The Ritz-Carlton Abama possesses a tangible atmosphere - it feels inherently like a place where truly romantic stories naturally, effortlessly unfold. The distinctive, warm red terracotta walls, the expansive, endless sea and the almost magical light that envelops everything in a luxurious, warm glow create an unparalleled setting. The Indian theme immediately resonated with my passion for celebrating love. I have always been captivated by the cultural richness, the profound elegance and vibrant energy of the clothing, and the meticulous, heartfelt way its traditions celebrate the commitment of love with such intention and beauty. As a celebrant who specialises in crafting highly romantic, bespoke, and often ocean-side ceremonies, being a central part of this felt perfectly aligned with my ethos.”

The entire floral concept for this editorial shoot was carefully inspired by the deep, warm terracotta walls that are the architectural signature of The Ritz-Carlton, Abama in Tenerife and was brought to life by Paula Rooney Florals with the help of the local florist, La Casa de las Flores. Paula reflects on her vision: “My main goal was to thoughtfully draw out the softest blush and pink tones found within the building’s own unique palette. This created a flower palette that felt simultaneously deeply romantic, yet utterly elevated and sophisticated. The delicate shades we selected worked in perfect, seamless harmony with the surrounding environment, and truly popped with breathtaking intensity against the stunning backdrop of the azure sea and sky!”

Conceived as a sort of romantic escape, this editorial tells the story of a bride who has slipped away from the expected and into the extraordinary, finding herself in the heart of ancient ruins, where love blooms in secret for two. The ceremony design evokes soft elegance with an edge of mystique: standalone blooms and hundreds of flickering candles frame each moment with dripping wax and gentle reflections, enhancing the sense of stillness and intimacy between the pair.

The floral design plays a central role, weaving the tale of a couple discovering an enchanted space where nature flourishes wild and free, untouched by symmetry or convention. Cascading arrangements in soft neutrals build a sense of untamed beauty, perfectly in harmony with the moody and timeworn setting. Sprays of white roses and trailing greenery help to add dimension to the layout, keeping a modern theme that juxtaposes the beautiful character of the architecture.

Styled Shoot

The reception continues this narrative of secluded romance. A single table, draped in delicate ivory linens sits beneath the open sky, its monochromatic palette exuding understated luxury. Two sculptural chairs face one another like thrones, surrounded by shimmering glassware and porcelain that glows in the candlelight. Our forbidden lovebirds both continue the neutral palette, with the bride stunning in a plunging lace design, enhanced with a batwing-sleeve cape for a touch of drama, whilst the groom boasts an ivory suit with black bowtie and shoes for a pop of drama.

Our beautiful wedding took place on 30th June 2025. This date was incredibly special to us; it marked exactly five years since Ben and I officially became a couple, and it also happened to be Ben’s dad’s 60th birthday, making the celebration even more monumental for our family.

The recommendation for our venue came from Sharron, the founder of Exclusive Yacht Weddings. From the moment we contacted the company, Sharron reached out immediately. Our initial conversation quickly evolved into a video call where we discussed our exact vision. With 30 years of industry experience, Sharron asked all the right questions and provided recommendations that perfectly aligned with what we wanted. This whole process was delightful; Sharron was just as excited as we were! We instantly connected with her, knowing we were in the best hands.

Sharron detailed everything the stunning Lemba Vrisi had to offer and how they could bring our dream day to life. Sharron and our wedding planner, Marialena (Mel), truly understood our desire for an intimate and magical setting. Lemba Vrisi surpassed all expectations. We exchanged our vows with a breathtaking view, looking through our beautiful floral arch and out across the valley. The beauty of

the cobblestones and shallow steps, framed by pink and white wildflowers, gave the location an authentic and simply stunning Cypriot feel.

Following the ceremony at Lemba Vrisi, Ben and I were whisked away to the harbour in a beautiful classic Beauford car. Meanwhile, our guests were collected by one of Exclusive Yacht Weddings’ opentop wedding buses, which they loved—the music and the cool breeze added to the fun!

Upon arriving at the harbour, our guests finally saw the super mega yacht, Ocean Vision, where our reception was to be held. Just a few days before the wedding, we made a last-minute decision to upgrade to this yacht to ensure our guests had ample space to relax and dance the night away. Sharron accommodated this request instantly and enthusiastically! She assured us it would be perfect for our number of guests and that she and Mel could easily transfer our seating plan and decorations.

After two years of planning, it felt like we had become family, and they met us with open arms. We were then introduced to the Captain and crew, who were all so lovely and welcoming. They were also fantastic with the young children on board, keeping a watchful eye and ensuring their safety throughout the night.

We cruised out of the harbour, dropped anchor in a bay, and partied into the night! We were treated to spectacular fireworks created especially for our guests and us. The evening culminated with Greek dancers joining us on board. They got everyone involved, providing the absolute best way to end our astonishingly amazing day!

Our Italian wedding unfolded amidst the rolling hills of Tuscany and spanned three magical days of glamour, laughter and unforgettable moments. September 2024 offered the ideal temperatures for a blissful yet not too hot outdoor wedding. The weekend unfolded with distinct celebrations: from the vibrant “La Dolce Vita Welcome Party” set against the backdrop of Sting’s vineyard, to a timelessly elegant black tie ceremony beneath Tuscan pines, and culminating in a lively Amalfi blue-inspired pool party.

Our chosen venue, Il Palagio, Sting & Trudie Styler’s breathtaking Tuscan estate, provided the perfect backdrop for every moment we were imagining, with its unexplored allure and the serene beauty of Tuscany. With its numerous rooms, the venue allowed us to spend the entire weekend surrounded by close family and friends, while other guests arrived from all over the world. With our 130 guests travelling from afar, the events felt like a reunion of family and closest friends for a weekend of celebrations and love.

Our three days of pure magic could not have gone so smoothly without the unrivalled work of our suppliers and their commitment to curating a series of days that represented our requests and elevating them just as you would expect from such a calibre of professionals. The unparalleled commitment of our vendors, especially Corsini. Events Group and Guido Guidi, along with the exceptional photographic talent of Thanos Asfis, played integral roles. Thanos, recognised among the top wedding photographers globally, managed to weave our story through a stunning blend of editorial and candid shots that not only documented the event but brought each moment vividly back to life.

Music was a major highlight of our celebration. We aimed for a vibrant, multi-layered event that beautifully merged our Jewish and Bulgarian heritages - a seamless cultural fusion woven throughout the evening. The day before the wedding, our welcome party paid homage to Italian culture with a lively performance by the roaming quartet, Crossroads, ensuring all guests were entertained. For the wedding ceremony, we maintained Jewish tradition, with the Soul Duo providing an intimate and moving accompaniment. The dinner reception was punctuated by three dedicated dancing intervals, celebrating both our cultures. Finally, the main evening entertainment was an exciting DJ set featuring a live saxophonist.

From the joyous welcome dinner to the heartfelt ceremony and the vibrant reception, each carefully orchestrated moment of our wedding weekend was far more than just a celebration of our union. It was a tangible testament to the very essence of the life we are building together; a beautiful expression of the balance, harmony and unbounded joy we promise to embody throughout our married life. When celebrated wedding photographer Rebecca Yale and documentary producer and editor Nick Andert began planning their wedding, they knew exactly what they wanted: something bold, beautiful and deeply personal.

Set at Borgo Finocchieto, a restored medieval village in the rolling hills of Tuscany, their multi-day celebration — planned and designed by longtime creative partner Callista & Co. — brought together loved ones from around the world for a wedding that reflected not just their love for each other, but also their shared creativity, community and purpose.

“We wanted every detail to feel meaningful,” Rebecca says. “From the setting and the design to the way we welcomed our guests and the causes we supported, it all had to feel like us.”

The couple met in 2020 during the early days of the pandemic — Rebecca’s twentieth Zoom date and Nick’s first. A year and a half later, Nick proposed on the beach in Malibu with their beloved dog Margo by his side.

For their wedding, they drew inspiration from their home, their favourite destinations, and the art and design they love. A custom print by artist Stephanie Fishwick—featuring peonies, poppies, hummingbirds, lemons and more — appeared throughout the invitation suite, welcome gifts, cocktail napkins and even Rebecca’s bespoke ceremony gown, designed in collaboration with Chynna Pope. Nick’s custom tuxedo included a matching version of the motif in the lining.

Each event during the weekend reflected a different facet of their story: a gelato cart named for Margo, lemon sorbet inspired by Rebecca’s favourite spot in Capri, a wine tasting in Montalcino celebrating their shared love of Italian culture and stargazing on the lawn with a local astronomer — an experience they curated to help guests slow down and take in the magic of the moment.

The ceremony, officiated by a dear friend, included a heartfelt letter from Margo read aloud to guests and ended with the couple breaking two glasses beneath the chuppah in celebration. The reception, held in a glass marquee overflowing with florals by Maxine Owens, was a feast for the senses. Guests found their seats via custom Prosecco bottles and enjoyed dinner by Michelin-starred chef Roberto

of Il Silene. After a lively hora and plenty of dancing, Rebecca changed into a feathered white mini dress — and later, printed silk pyjamas to match the ones she had gifted her bridal party.

The elegant couple hosted three days of celebrations in the Italian capital, Rome...

Edward's proposal was an absolute surprise and truly magical. He caught me completely off guard during a trip to Vermont when we arrived for a walk at a scenic mountain overlook. What made the moment even more meaningful was the thoughtfulness behind it: Edward had hiked the mountain earlier that morning with my little brother. It was the most beautiful surprise and a memory I will cherish forever.

Our wedding was a four-day celebration, including a Welcome Party, Henna/Sangeet, Wedding Day and Walima Brunch. We chose that week intentionally because we are both attorneys in New York, and it coincided with the Jubilee of Justice for attorneys - a rare event that happens only once every 25 years. It felt like the perfect once-in-alifetime moment to celebrate our special love.

Rome felt like the ultimate destination: timeless, romantic and truly the city of love. We wanted our wedding to feel like an unforgettable experience for our guests, and Rome offered the perfect backdrop.

The venues chosen for each celebration perfectly complemented the desired atmosphere. The Waldorf Astoria Rome Cavalieri hosted both the Welcome Party and the Walima Brunch, while the Palazzo Brancaccio set the scene for the Henna/Sangeet. Finally, the magnificent Villa Miani

was the backdrop for the wedding day. Each location delivered a grand, elegant and distinctly Roman experience.

Our dream team made everything possible, especially my wedding planner, Roberta Torresan. Each vendor contributed something unforgettable and helped make the entire weekend feel seamless and extraordinary. Each day had its own distinct atmosphere and styling.

The Welcome Party was designed as an elegant Italian soirée, with fresh food, warm florals and details that complemented the golden Roman sunset. The Henna/Sangeet embraced a royal Mughal theme, complete with rich red roses and dramatic décor. The wedding day featured an elegant all-white palette with floral installations throughout Villa Miani. We also incorporated mirror accents in both the ceremony and reception, which gave everything a modern, romantic, reflective glow. The Walima Brunch had a soft pastel garden theme inspired by Persian culture: romantic, airy and timeless.

I worked with one of Pakistan’s top designers, Ali Xeeshan, who designed my wedding gown, my after-party dress and my Henna outfit. It was an incredible experience from start to finish. He even flew to Italy personally to dress me and attend the wedding, which made the entire process feel so special and personal. My outfit fit like a glove, and I truly felt like royalty. It was beyond anything I could have ever imagined - like stepping into a fairytale. I honestly wish I could wear it all over again.

The most cherished aspect of the day was the gathering of all our loved ones - our family, friends and especially our grandparents. Bringing everyone we hold dear together in a single place, in a country we might never share again as a group, made the moment profoundly emotional and truly priceless.

After more than ten years spent designing weddings, my perspective on the world of Destination Weddings has profoundly changed. I started working in my region, Abruzzo, a region that for a long time was chosen almost exclusively by those who had roots there: the so-called “return tourism.” Children or grandchildren of emigrants who chose to return here to celebrate the connection with the land of their ancestors.

Today, however, Abruzzo is experiencing a new spring. It is a region that holds precious secrets: villages suspended in time, the wild nature of the mountains and the poetry of the Trabocchi Coast. Yet, it remains a treasure still to be discovered by most of the world.

THE MEETING BETWEEN THE UNKNOWN AND BEAUTY

The turning point, for me, was the wedding of Krizia and Alberto. She, a bride who chose Abruzzo not for her origins, but for pure aesthetics and charm, falling in love online with Borgo Baccile, the flagship of Fantini Vini, nestled among the vineyards. At that moment, I understood that my mission was not just to organize an event, but to create a “destination.”

For them, we took care of every detail: from transfers from Rome airport, to a pre-wedding white party on the beach, up to the brunch the day after. It was an intimate experience, capable of making even the guests who arrived from Honduras fall in love.

BEYOND BORDERS

The core of my work, however, remains the ability to bring different worlds into dialogue. Over the years I have had the privilege of supporting couples from New York, Australia, Belgium and Lebanon. “Every wedding is an exercise in cultural translation: a bridge between home traditions and the magic of our territory.”

I remember Daniela and Ralph with emotion. She is Italian, he is Lebanese, residents of Qatar. For them we didn’t just plan a wedding,

we created a fusion: the unrestrainable energy of Dabke music was combined with a moment of pure magic under a cone of lights and artificial snow for the first dance. The same happened with Jessica and Abdennour, a couple who lived in Paris, where my task was to merge the elegance of her Marche origins with his rich Algerian tradition.

LOGISTICS AS AN ART FORM

My role does not stop at regional borders. Last year I accompanied a couple from Michigan, Christina and Kevin, to Umbria, at the Monastero di Santa Illuminata. Managing a remote event, coordinating the catering, logistics and the entire network of professionals so that their group of 30 guests could enjoy a vacation of pure relaxation between sun and swimming pool, was proof that professionalism has no geographical boundaries.

Just a 45-minute domestic flight from Malé, the Mantra Air plane landed directly on Ifuru Island, a rare resort with its own airstrip, nestled in the pristine Raa Atoll. A fun highlight was the ice bath challenge by the pool. The intense cold was a challenge, but the encouragement from the group led to a shared triumph — a moment of glory!

The Maldives is a paradise for sea lovers. Dreams become even more real when you immerse yourself in the sea’s beauty. On day three, a private catamaran cruise with a guide led us to discover the rich seabed, snorkelling among unicorn fish, Napoleon wrasse and corals, culminating in a picture-perfect moment on a sandbank in the middle of the ocean.

Back on land, there’s ample opportunity to unwind. Both couples and small groups can relax with beauty treatments at the Xanadu Spa, enjoy a gym session, or participate in more meaningful rituals. I was thrilled to experience my first sound healing, moving from the intensity of the ice bath to the transformative power of a sound bath. You can also carve out personal time — reading a favourite book at the beach club, tasting ice cream from the pink tower or simply lying on the warm white sand before a dip in the bright lagoon.

Our final day concluded with a sunset yoga session by the sea—a truly special and perfect farewell to days filled with relaxation, fun, romance and connection with this unique place and its warm hospitality in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

UNITED KINGDOM WEDDINGS & HONEYMOONS AWARDS

By the first week of February, London felt a little more sparkling that usual as we gathered for the third annual United Kingdom Weddings & Honeymoons Awards.

Esteemed guests, creatives and visionaries of the industry came together to celebrate the world of weddings, with the added launch of our inaugural UKWHA Symposium. Here’s your catch-up on all things UKWHA…

Cocktail Reception

The UKWHA festivities kicked o at One Moorgate Place on the evening of the 3rd February with an intimate cocktail reception. Our Symposium attendees and esteemed guests got the chance to break the ice and network among the beautiful architecture of this Grade-II listed venue as bubbles and canapés flowed, all complemented by the songbird tones of All Things Nice Entertainment. Emilie-Kate provided a warm welcome to begin the events and raise excitement for our Symposium and Gala evening to come.

The UKWHA Symposium

To give our guests a chance to network and learn more about the industry, Weddings & Honeymoons Media organised the inaugural UKWHA Symposium at the stunning 10-11 Carlton House Terrace. The conference, themed ‘Written In The Stars: What will weddings look like in five years or more?’, invited expert speakers to share valued insight and experience on the upcoming trends and waves in the industry to inspire our attendees and start rich conversation.

Following insightful speeches from Tommaso Corsini about WIM and the power of community in the private events sector, Veni Infantino’s inspiring personal tale of building a worldrenowned design house and Margaret Kulokhoma sharing the magic of Kenya for your nuptials. Next came Rebecca Hawkes from the Searcy’s team about their stunning wedding venues. Then, guests broke for a beautiful Afternoon Tea. A quintessential British treat, a spread of finger sandwiches, bitesize tarts and delightful cakes and pastries fuelled our guests for more conversation. After the break, Roberta Torresan shared her lessons learnt from planning world-class weddings, and the day ended with Donne Kerestic looking back on the history of Las Vegas and forward to the power of AI to transform your business.

It was a fabulous day of education and networking, the perfect way to build excitement for the Awards finale!

Our final event of the week was our glittering gala evening at The Dorchester Hotel, Mayfair. The night opened with a chic red carpet entrance and drinks reception, with guests embracing the celestial theme as the room filled with sparkles, starry headpieces and midnight tones.
