REAL LIFE WEDDING IN JAMAICA

Top tips

Never settle for choices solely based on family and friends. However, do make sure your guests are well taken care of. Always choose what makes you happiest, or else you endure unnecessary stress. Also, hiring the right team to handle the details can allow you to enjoy your day, so you can spend the time with your guests

There are several factors

that contributed to choosing Jamaica as our wedding location, but it was with our family and friends in mind that sealed the deal. We both love the food and rich heritage, plus Jamaica is like Texas in terms of it’s fun-loving people. We wanted the location that sparked our love interest, a place where the majority of our friends and family have never been, but was still easily accessible by all. We knew we wanted a private and unique venue that could facilitate a seamless flow, from welcome cocktails to the reception. Borghinvilla was not only a stunning property, but also catered to our every need. Each component of the wedding event felt like a new location, from poolside welcome cocktails to the beach “I do’s.” For a previous function, I worked with Saint T and found them to be very professional and extremely talented, so I chose them to decorate our venue. Like all the other vendors we chose, they were very detailed and passionate about “love” and their craft. Saint T followed through with our chic rustic, yet tastefully elegant theme with café lights, burlap, wood and lace accents to create a unique island charm. My dress was made by Uzuri International, who generally makes the dresses for Ms. Jamaica Universe. They have the ability to personalise each design to best suit my styling preference of clean, dramatic silhouettes. Accented with lace, feathers and crystals, each fabric was handpicked for my personality. I had many trial sessions for my hair and makeup and while all were good, I wanted someone who connected with me and who cared about me as an individual and not just another bride. When I met with Rashel, she asked questions that made me feel genuine care and comfort, so I chose her before I saw her work. In fact, the first time I saw her work was my wedding day!

Whilst the guests danced, the team transformed the beach within minutes to a starlit wondrous delight where the skies lit up with a colourful burst of fireworks
