Tony Kelly's musical journey began at the tender age of eight when he started piano lessons, showing exceptional talent for playing by ear. After mastering the trumpet in school, Tony became the youngest Minister of Music for The First-Born Church of The Living God INC. NORTH CAROLINA DISTRICT. His passion for music led him to serve as the Minister of Music for several churches in North Carolina and New Jersey. A member of the band Mellow Madness, Tony caught the recording bug and began writing Praise and Worship music inspired by his faith. Donna Walton recognized Tony's musical talents and passion for spreading the message of Jesus Christ through his music, and he became an integral part of The Donna Walton Gospel Network.

Tony now hosts shows like "OnThe Jazz Tip" and "The 5 O’clock Word and Song" while serving as the General Manager of DWGN Radio and the Executive Manager of the Indie Radio Coalition.

DWGN Showcase to Entertain the Crowd

This weekend there will be plenty of entertainment taking place during the Zane’s Trace Commemoration event. On the main stage the DWGN Showcase will bring in artists from Michigan, Ohio and surrounding areas to get the crowd moving. DWGN is a non-profit for the arts that provides opportunities and a platform for independent recording artists to be promoted on television, radio and through live events. Donna Walton runs DWGN and is also a performer. She’s just one of the acts that will draw a crowd.

“I’ve been singing for a long time. I’ve been a performer a recording artist for a few years and with the concerts that we put on and are invited to each month you get used to, you do have a few butterflies, but once you start singing your songs you just get comfortable and we just enjoy what we do,” said Walton. When you come down to listen to the showcase you can expect to hear some soul, house music you can dance to, gospel and much more. One artist is Michelle Miller-Bell from Michigan who grew up around music in church. She sang in the choir and is excited to take the stage. “I like the audience participation. I am an audience type of entertainer. I sing but I want the audience participation, engaging.

I know we’re here at a festival. It’s not Carnegie Hall and everyone has to be quiet. So I want that participation. I want to be engaging and every time I come out I want to have fun,” said Miller-Bell. For artist Juliette Brown this will be her first time taking part in a showcase. She’s looking forward to sharing her message with those that hear her voice.

“It’s just being able to spread the gospel that is the best thing to connect people to God through music,” said Brown of her music.

You can catch the DWGN Showcase at the Zane’s Trace Commemoration twice Saturday once at 12pm and again at 3pm.

Euclid Chamber of Commerce

Let me introduce myself. My name is Dana Heil, and I am the Executive Director of the Euclid Chamber of Commerce. Many people don’t really know what a Chamber of Commerce is or how it helps businesses.

What is the Chamber of Commerce and Why Should I Join?

The first part of this question is very easy to answer. A Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization that’s dedicated to promoting the local business community. A Chamber helps business owners’ network and grow. They host networking events, fundraisers, workshops and other activities aimed at connecting local business owners and community leaders.

We have monthly Coffee Connections and Happy Hours. Coffee Connections are hosted by member businesses, giving hosting businesses a chance to welcome members into their business, promote themselves and give a tour of their business. Happy Hours are hosted by our member bars and restaurants. We encourage members to come, enjoy their favorite adult beverage while meeting some new business contacts. .

We also provide some networking opportunities in the wider community. ECC belongs to the Collaborative Chamber Alliance (CCA). This is a group of local and international Chambers CCA has a monthly virtual speed networking event that has anywhere for 25 – 40 participants. Additional, ECC members can attend events from any CCA member chamber as a member. This is a great opportunity to meet a wide variety of business owners across Northeast Ohio. Additionally, CCA has a Young Professionals Group and a Women’s Group that ECC members are encouraged to participate in.

Finally, ECC has large annual events including our Golf Outing, the State of the City Presentation, our Awards Ceremony and the Mix & Mingle Event. These events provide a variety of sponsorship opportunities. ECC also offers a variety of professional development events and events with neighboring Chambers.

Chambers also offer discounts. The Euclid Chamber of Commerce is a member of NOACC, the Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce. NOACC provides a variety of benefits for member businesses from discounted health care and the Chamber Energy Program to payroll, managed health care and more. These programs can actually affect the bottom line for businesses.
