Founding The Donna Walton Gospel Network as a 501c3 nonprofit organization in July 2020, Donna's mission was to provide a media platform for talented independent artists and extend their reach beyond their local church circuits. Through DWGN Radio, DWGN TV, newsletters, magazines, marketing, promotional services, and booking services, Donna's organization empowers independent artists in the Gospel genre and fosters spiritual enrichment in underserved communities and Senior Citizens communities.

Tony Kelly's musical journey began at the tender age of eight when he started piano lessons, showing exceptional talent for playing by ear. After mastering the trumpet in school, Tony became the youngest Minister of Music for The First-Born Church of The Living God INC. NORTH CAROLINA DISTRICT. His passion for music led him to serve as the Minister of Music for several churches in North Carolina and New Jersey. A member of the band Mellow Madness, Tony caught the recording bug and began writing Praise and Worship music inspired by his faith. Donna Walton recognized Tony's musical talents and passion for spreading the message of Jesus Christ through his music, and he became an integral part of The Donna Walton Gospel Network.

Tony now hosts shows like "OnThe Jazz Tip" and "The 5 O’clock Word and Song" while serving as the Executive Director of DWGN Radio and the Executive Manager of the Indie Radio Coalition.

Houston, TX - In music and faith, Bert Cross II stands as a remarkable figure, a man whose life has been a testament to the unifying power of both. From a young age, Bert marked his journey in music with a deep love for the craft and an unwavering commitment to excellence. His musical talents knew no bounds, and he often pushed himself beyond standard expectations, earning a reputation among fellow musicians as a trailblazer ahead of his time.

However, the road to musical excellence was not without its disappointments. Bert's high standards often left him frustrated and even on the verge of despair as he expected greatness from those not equipped to meet his lofty standards. Yet, his dedication to music persisted, particularly in his church community, where he longed to offer his best to God.

The turning point in Bert's life came in 2002 when he faced a life-changing experience. At the time, he was living in Atascocita, Texas, as the Music Pastor for a church in the Dallas suburbs. The four-hour one-way drive did not deter him from his passion for church productions, and in the summer of 2002, he poured his heart and soul into a Fourth of July Celebration at his church. However, this event took an unexpected turn, leaving Bert crushed.

Half of the choir skipped the crucial dress rehearsal, and those who attended needed to dress appropriately. Bert's disappointment was palpable, and it took a toll on him during the long drive back to Houston. During this low point, his wife, Lenora, revealed that perhaps his calling suited a school or college environment better. This insight would lead him on a path to his true destiny.

Shortly after this revelation, Bert, absent from college for eighteen years, returned to the academic world. He enrolled at Texas Southern University, where he pursued a graduate degree in music, specializing in composition for film and musical theatre. As fate would have it, the Department Chairperson that year oversaw the Theatre Department, opening doors for Bert to write, perform, and become the musical director for Children's Theatre productions. These experiences were transformative and shaped his path in unexpected ways.

Bert graduated with honors in 2004, and the university immediately hired him to teach due to his outstanding work as a graduate student. Over the next seven years, he shared his knowledge as a jazz instructor and contributed to the theatre department as a music director. Bert's musical journey took another turn when an old college roommate, Cecil Armstrong, suggested he focus on one song and share it on social media. Inspired by this idea, Bert released "The Books of the Bible Song" in 2011 and recorded it with a children's choir in 1998. Though the initial response was not as he had hoped, it began a new chapter.

Fast forward to 2023, when Bert's grandson was preparing for a school project. His wife suggested that he share "The Books of the Bible Song," but to their surprise, they couldn't find it on YouTube. In a late-night effort, Bert retrieved the song from an old hard drive and re-uploaded it to social media. The response was incredible, with thousands of views in just a few days. DWGN radio station played the song, further boosting its popularity. This resurgence of interest in his music has reignited Bert's passion and creativity.

Looking ahead, Bert has two significant projects in the works. The first is a song titled "Someone Is Knocking at Your Door," which challenges listeners to examine their faith and commitment to Christ in a modern context. The second project is a musical drama with a powerful message about moving beyond religious constraints. Bert is determined to shake up the religious community with this work.
