Corporations, Civic Groups Help KCSL
K
ansas Children’s Service League (KCSL) has been fortunate to receive charitable contributions from multiple corporations and civic groups throughout the year especially for the holidays. Children and families have received items ranging from diapers to backpacks to cleaning supplies. Hours of volunteer work gave staff more opportunities to support families in need.
This month, Westar gave essential winter items to distribute to families participating in Parent Education and Healthy Families in Wichita. Winter coats and boots, children’s clothes, diapers, toys and gift cards were brought to KCSL’s Wichita office. Earlier this year, employees donated enough school supplies to distribute among four different Wichita programs. Parents participating in Crisis Nursery, Healthy Families, Kinship and Parent Education were able to provide necessary materials to their children at the beginning of fall semester thanks to this generous gift.
