Editorial

Visualiza Magazine was created to strengthen internal communication among all of us who form part of this great family dedicated to eye health and vision care.

This publication aims to inform, share, and highlight the many activities carried out daily across our clinics, medical missions, trainings, and projects. We want every collaborator—from medical staff to administrative teams— to feel an active part of this mission that transforms lives through vision.

Together, we continue working with passion and commitment to offer ophthalmological care that is high-quality, accessible, and human-centered. With this magazine, we take one more step toward transparency, internal recognition, and continuous improvement.

We deeply thank everyone who makes this project possible. Visualiza Magazine belongs to all of us—it is made by our people and for our people. Let’s keep building an institution that not only sees but also illuminates the path for those who need it most.

Close to Our People: Visualiza at the Totonicapan Fair

The Visualiza Vision Center in Totonicapán took part in the opening parade of the town’s traditional fair— an event that gathered institutions, businesses, and organizations in an atmosphere of joy and community spirit.

Our participation aimed to strengthen our presence in the region, promote the importance of visual health, and share information about the ophthalmological services we offer.

With enthusiasm and a spirit of service, the team reaffirmed its commitment to being close to the people, providing comprehensive and accessible eye care for everyone

Strengthening Bonds to End Preventable Blindness

0n September 27, the Vision Gala 2025 was held, an event organized by Dr. Singal in collaboration with the ADARSH Foundation. The initiative sought to strengthen relationships with donors, raise awareness about preventable blindness, and promote sustainable solutions to meet the growing demand for ophthalmological care in underserved communities.

In this edition, Visualiza and ADI participated actively, showcasing the rigorous medical training programs for residents and subspecialists. This reflects our institutional commitment to delivering comprehensive visual health to more communities across Guatemala.

The unwavering faith, vision, and leadership of Dr. Singal have been fundamental pillars in transforming financial support into a network of dedicated professionals—doctors who look beyond the disease to provide care with humanity, excellence, and vocation.

Visualiza Certified as an International Training Center by

In September, Visualiza had the honor of welcoming Dr. Minal Shah, Regional Representative for the Americas from HelpMeSee. Her visit marked a milestone for our institution, strengthening our collaboration with this global organization dedicated to ending preventable blindness through education, innovation, and surgical training.

Over two days of intensive academic and clinical activities, Dr. Shah led workshops, attended theoretical classes, and observed surgeries, assessing residents’ performance and teaching methodologies. She also worked closely with Dr. Ana Sandoval and Dr. María León, part of our faculty, enhancing their skills as certified HelpMeSee simulator instructors. This cutting-edge tool allows safe, realistic practice of cataract surgery, fostering technical excellence among future specialists.

Thanks to this meaningful visit, Visualiza was officially certified as a HelpMeSee Simulation Training Center, joining an international network of institutions that promote advanced surgical education and global standards of quality.

This achievement strengthens our mission to train highly skilled professionals committed to humanity and excellence—bringing comprehensive visual health to more communities in Guatemala and beyond.
