WORKFLOWS EXPERIENCE

Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement is one of the fundamental pillars at Visualiza. As part of this commitment, Dr. Mariano Yee, founder of Visualiza, and Dr. Lucía Silva, medical director of our institution, represented Visualiza at the prestigious Workflows Experience event, organized by ZEISS, a world leader in ophthalmologic technology.

This event, which brought together clinics and specialists from all over Latin America, focused on exploring the latest advances in diagnostic and treatment technologies, as well as workflows that optimize patient experience and clinical efficiency. During the meeting, knowledge, experiences and success stories were shared, promoting joint learning among top-level professionals. Participating in Workflows Experience allows us to be one step ahead in the knowledge and application of technologies that transform the way we care for our patients. Likewise, the importance of constantly adopting new knowledge and technologies to improve the experience and results of our patients was highlighted.

At Visualiza, we understand that technology is a key tool to provide accurate diagnoses and effective treatments. Therefore, events like this reinforce our mission to offer an ophthalmological medical service that makes a difference in the quality of life of our patients.

We thank Dr. Mariano Yee and Dr. Lucía Silva for representing our institution with their passion and commitment in the Workflows Experience. Their participation reinforces Visualiza’s role as a leader in visual health, always focused on innovating and learning to always guarantee the best care for visual health.

Bionikos Workshop

In the interest of the continuous improvement of our students, a relevant workshop was held with experts from the Bionikos brand. This event, focused on the use of bionic eye models, aims to allow residents and fellows to practice their surgical skills safely and effectively, before performing procedures on real patients.

The workshop was sponsored by Innovu, and included the participation of Dr. María Ramírez, who gave a virtual conference from the United States, sharing her experience and knowledge as a representative of the Bionikos brand. This training highlights Visualiza’s commitment to constant investment in safe

practices and in the training of our students. We believe in the importance of providing innovative tools that strengthen the preparation of future health professionals, ensuring that they can practice and perfect their techniques in a controlled and high-quality environment.

This workshop, aimed at perfecting surgical skills in endothelial transplantation, allowed the student to acquire first-hand experience in one of the most advanced techniques for the treatment of endothelial corneal diseases.

We thank Dr. Papa for sharing his knowledge and experience in this area so relevant to ophthalmology.

VISION CENTERS

We closed the year with a series of activities and events at our Vision Centers, reaffirming our commitment to bringing quality ophthalmological care to those who need it most. These initiatives have allowed us to reach more patients, giving them the opportunity to improve their visual health and, with it, their quality of life.

In December, for the Christmas holidays, different parades of Christmas floats were held by our Vision Centers in the central areas of Sayaxché and Guastatoya. Each of the companies and businesses in the sector were invited by the Municipality to participate with the ideal of demonstrating the Christmas spirit with distinctive decorations, gifts and surprises.

The services that our Vision Centers provide to the communities were also made known, inviting more patients to access good visual health.

San Marcos

At the San Marcos Vision Center, we held a day with the aim of providing care to more people who need eye care. On this occasion, we visited the community of San José Las Islas, where we implemented a visual screening in the village’s auxiliary offices.

Thanks to this initiative, we were able to serve more than 50 patients, including children and adults, identifying visual needs and providing solutions that improve their quality of life. This effort reflects our commitment to bring eye health to every corner of Guatemala.

PEDIATRIC DAY

From December 16 to 18, 2024, the Christmas spirit illuminated the community of Aldea El Panal, in the municipality of Taxisco, department of Santa Rosa, with the Pediatric Festival Christmas Day. This event combined eye health care and recreational activities, bringing joy and well-being to children, parents and grandparents in the community.

During the day, the visual health of the attendees was evaluated, identifying needs to offer timely solutions. In addition, the children enjoyed a festive get-together with traditional piñatas and snacks.

In an emotional moment, the participants received medals, and were designated the “Captains of Vision,” encouraging responsibility and commitment to eye care.
