Class of 2011 Sam Devito Highly successful Head Football Coach at DVC for 20 years (1959-78). Longest tenure by any football coach in school history. Helped transfer numerous players to Division I programs and several either played or coached in the NFL or CFL. List includes: Altie Taylor (Lions), Leo Biedermann (Browns), Roger Davis (Winnipeg / CFL) and Ron Turner (Bears). Has five ex-football players and his 1966 Empire Bowl Champion Team previously inducted into DVC Hall of Fame. Taught Physical Education at DVC for 30 years, retired in 1989. Former Head Softball Coach at DVC. Was active in State Football Coaches Association.
