The DUX bed is designed to minimise pressure on the spine and relieve back pain. Even weight distribution in a DUX bed promotes circulation. The result is that you fall asleep faster, stay in the deep sleep phase longer and wake up more rested in the morning.

Almost a century of research and technological development has resulted in a revolutionary spring made of the finest Swedish steel - unrivalled in terms of flexibility, support and resistance. Several kilometres of wire are processed for the thousands of internal springs in every DUX bed.

Most conventional mattresses contain only approximately one fifth of the springs found in a DUX bed. In a DUX bed the far higher number of support points helps to distribute the weight of your body more effectively. This results in fewer pressure points, better circulation, reduces back pain and prevents tossing and turning all night.

It‘s only the dynamic properties of the DUX continuous coil spring system that allows the bed to actively adapt to all your different lying positions at night, cushioning and supporting movements in horizontal, vertical and diagonal directions, i.e. three-dimensionally.

Physique and weight do not matter as the unique, multi-layered spring system optimally adapts to the contours of your body, relieves the spine and ensures a relaxing, natural lying position. Only with support can your back, body and mind regenerate completely during sleep.

This is one of the most important factors in finding the right mattress, but unfortunately this is often overlooked.

Everybody actually needs different relief, even though we all sleep in practically the same beds. The perfect fit for your partner may be completely unsuitable for you.

If you sleep in a bed that does not relieve your body at the right points, your body will adapt to the bed.

You will not be able to relax properly and your sleep will be significantly affected. With over 120 muscles, 100 joints and 220 ligaments, the spine is a mechanical miracle. Nearly 14 million neurons carry information from the brain to the rest of the body.

According to medical studies, 80% of people suffer from back pain at some point in their lives. Sitting for a long time, wearing the wrong shoes, plus strain and stress can all be causes of back pain. A mattress that adds additional strain is fatal for the back.

FROM CHOCOLATIER TO BED INNOVATOR

The history of DUX

In 1924, Swedish chocolatier Efraim Ljung went on a business trip to Chicago.

After a long day full of appointments, he took a room in a simple, but cosy, hotel in the city. He fell into bed exhausted and was asleep almost as soon as his head hit the pillow.

This night was followed by an awakening:

“How can a bed be this comfortable?” he asked himself, after experiencing the best sleep of his life. Overcome by curiosity, Efraim Ljung only briefly grappled with his conscience before carefully slicing the bed open with his pocketknife. The discovery that followed surprised and fascinated him: the bed was made of flexible steel springs. He carefully sewed the fabric back together, but he took the memory of what he saw back with him to Sweden.

He couldn‘t stop thinking about the flexible bed and the incredible night‘s sleep it had given him. From that moment on, he focused less on chocolate and began experimenting with steel springs of different thicknesses and flexibility. His passion and patience led to the first DUX bed in 1926 – with a sensitive and unique spring system that actively reacted to pressure and weight.

In the 1950’s and 1960’s, the business was broadened and expanded to include sofas and armchairs. In the 1980’s, the DUXIANA concept was created with specialist shops and later a hotel chain under the same name.

Today, DUXIANA can be found in over 20 countries and has become synonymous with comfort, quality, innovation and craftsmanship around the world – just like Efraim Ljung envisioned almost 100 years ago.

DUX 1001 with its double layer of springs is the perfect introduction to the legendary comfort of DUX. The design is based on the first DUX bed made back in 1926, which has been further developed over the years. A combination of our proud heritage and modern day bed comfort.

DUX 3003 is our most popular bed. The high level of comfort is based on the interaction between two DUX innovations: the spring system with thousands of interlinked springs, and the unique Pascal system with its movable springs that allows the bed to be easily adapted to individual needs.

DUX 6006 features two DUX innovations that together offer optimal comfort. The bed has exceptionally deep springs thanks to DUX’s double-spring system, with thousands of dynamically interlinked springs. Depending on the size, the bed features up to six Pascal cartridges divided according to the body’s three comfort zones – shoulders, hips, and legs. Each zone can be adjusted to be soft, medium, firm, or extra firm, allowing the bed to be adjusted to individual needs.

DUX 8008 continental bed is our most advanced and exclusive bed. It has twice as many springs as a regular bed, and more customisation options than any other. DUX’s double-spring system, with thousands of dynamically interlinked springs, offers exceptional spring depth. Depending on the size, the bed features up to six Pascal cartridges divided according to the body’s three comfort zones –shoulders, hips, and legs. Each zone can be adjusted to be soft, medium, firm, or extra firm. DUX 8008 also features an adjustable lumbar support system for each side of the bed. With the twist of a dial, you can visibly set the level between medium and firm.

DUX 303 is our newest mattress bed with Pascal system to customise comfort zones. The high level of comfort stems from the interaction between two DUX innovations – the DUX spring system with thousands of interconnected coils, and our unique Pascal system.

DYNAMIC

DUX Dynamic combines the best that a traditional DUX bed has to offer, with the added advantage of adjustability. Choose the position yourself with a simple press of a button on the handheld controller. DUX Dynamic is operated by a reliable low-voltage motor. Three layers of springs guarantee a great night’s sleep. The top layer is based on our Pascal system that moulds to your three body zones: Shoulders, hips, and legs.

XCLUSIVE

CRAFTED DETAILS FOR STYLE AND COMFORT

DUX Xclusive is our most luxurious and exclusive bed package. It is based on the 8008 model but the difference lies in the extra attention to detail and the use of exclusive materials, for example, the handcrafted leather details on the mattress and top pad, the specially designed legs and the lamps which are always included in the Xclusive bed package. In short, it is a handcrafted masterpiece.

DUX JETSON

A futuristic icon of Swedish furniture design that designer Bruno Mathsson worked on for three years. It is a milestone in Bruno Mathsson’s works and has inspired many imitators. This bestseller is characterised by a cupped seat, a high, ergonomically designed back with headrest and the unique memory function, which turns the chair back to its original position, as well as a chrome frame.

DUX PERNILLA 69

Designed by Bruno Mathsson, the ergonomic and comfortable Pernilla 69 is considered to be one of DUX’s most comfortable design classics. A matching footstool is available separately. It is available in fabric or leather upholstery.

DUX SPIDER CHAIR

With its six elongated cushions and ‘spider frame’, this armchair was a modern classic back in 1982. In 2012, it was reintroduced as part of the DUX Design Revival. With the same unique design, but with greater comfort than the previous version, the Spider Chair is now upholstered with the patented DUX Pascal springs in the cushions, so that it offers you unique sitting comfort.

DUX SUPERSPIDER

This lounge chair invites you to relax. The Superspider was designed in 1987 and was awarded a prize for superior design at the furniture trade fair in Cologne two years later. The frame is made of chrome plated steel and the chair can be upholstered in fabric, leather or lambskin in a variety of colours.

THE RITZY COLLECTION

An elegant 3 seater sofa, 2 seater sofa and chair for the home or office. The retro look design and DUX Pascal springs in the seat provide optimal seating comfort. The legs of the sofa are made of stainless steel. The DUX Ritzy is available in fabric and leather.

INTER TABLE WITH DUX CHAIR SAM

Inter round dining table invites to conversation and eye contact with all guests. Also available as an oval dining table in two different sizes. The chair Sam re-emerged in 2015 as part of the DUX Design Revival. Frame in chromed or black lacquered steel and deep tufted seat section with cold foam and decorative buckle in the back.
